Nations Direct wants $40.00 notary

I received a call from Nations Direct yesterday for a closing to be done the next day. When I asked him how much he was allowed to pay for this, he said that they usually pay $40.00. I told him I would do it for $50.00 since it was close to my home. He agreed to the fee and told me he would send a confirmation. Later that day with no confirmation I called the company. After visiting with two different people and not being able to find the appointment I was told that the person scheduling the closing was not there. It was then discovered that he had continued to call and found someone to do the closing for $40.00! I couldn't believe he found someone for $40.00!!!!! I've noticed a few signing companies have been soliciting for $40.00 signings and I guess this is why. Someone out there likes to throw low balls.

I hope they enjoy their 20 pages of fax backs, calling in from the signings and 4 calls to tell you to fax back. Next year the $40 notary will loose her/his buisness to the $35 notary. DON"T DO IT!

I have had the same experience with Nations Direct. They offer $40, and then want
you to fax back 20 pages of documents when you are finished. The answer is simple
don't work for them.......

And I would like a $5,000.00 Ferrari Enzo

But in this life you get what you pay for. $4o.00 Notaries are like dogs who chase cars, they make some noise and atract some attention, but they won't last long. PS the Enzo is $1,000.000.00 +:-)

Re: $50 was not enough ANYWAYS

I think this what happening almost everywhere. The amount of work is not as much as used to be. so it will push the price down. I would not take anything less than 70.00 in Maryland period. Do you guys feel the same way that the work load going down.

Not exactly Dogmonger ....

Novices, please forgive the offense, but I had to respond:

Not like dogs. Like kittens: More innocent babes show up every three months. A few get lucky and many don't survive more than a year.
