Need help..not had this situation before

Borrower received the overnight docs on Saturday for our Monday morning signing. I opened the pkg (at the signing table) and all docs are dated Aug 3. Called SS they said this lender has this new express program and docs will be dated for a future date BUT to sign them with todays date. I continued with the signing and told the borrower I would need to check to make sure, as a notary, that I can do that. So, I'm requesting your expert advise. Thanks

Its up to the lender how to date the docs

As long as your notary dates reflect the actual time of signing there should be no problem.

I've never seen that before, I would question it also. I agree with Chuck though.

You are fine to go ahead and do the signing with the docs dates as they are.
Borrowers just need to sign them with the current date and also your notary certificates should be the current date.

Consider the dates on the document being part of the contents of the document, and we are not responsible for the contents.
