Notary Protocol

Is there a protocol for a notary notarizing documents for another notary?
In other words, do you charge a fee or is there a general practice of doing it free?
Personally, I would not charge, but am curious about what others do (or would do).

I have a reciprocal agreement with another notary in my area. If I need a document notarizing she will take care of it, and visa versa. We don't charge each other.

I don't charge other notaries for doing their documents. However, I still make sure the notarization is done with full formality, including filling out my notary journal w/ID if the person is not personally known by me.

My husband and I just refi'd. A friend of mine, who's a Notary, did it for us. She didn't charge us a thing.
