Overseas Notarization

What do i put on the notary form where it usually says State of ___, County of ___, when the notarization is going to be done by the U.S. Consulate in Rome?

Is it an apostille?

I don't know. I thought the apostille was something that got attached after it got notarized. I'm trying to figure out the form for the notary.

You let the Consulate officer make the correction ...

Or any changes. The Consulate office will use an entirely different form.

If you want to pre-type the form for the Consulate Officer, you can call the office in Rome and ask them to fax the form to you so that you can type it onto the document for your friend.

In our law firm, we have the lawyers review the Consulate form first to make sure it complies with what the final recipient of the document wants.
