Possible Blacklist?

Up until two weeks ago, I was getting 4-7 calls daily, 5-7 days weekly. Then, suddenly, all calls have stopped. Is there a secret blacklist being circulated by SS, title co's., etc? If so, they
are very sure of themselves, aren't they?! I guess they don't fear the multi-thousand dollars I'd win in my multiple, class-action civil law-suits that my company's legal team will file against them when our investigation is complete. Not to mention the black mark that each of those companies will incur as a result of their stupidity, ignorance, and arrogant, conceited ego!

If there is a "blacklist", do you feel you should be on it?

Most Title Companies don't care what other title companies are doing, except in regard to their customers. (lenders, realtors, etc.) (however some are starting to look for GOOD notaries, to get away from the scummy SS's)
Most SS are just looking for the cheapest notaies they can get.

I'm with Kimberly. Do you feel there's such a list because you belong on one? Why would you be ready to hire attorneys to defend yourself?

I am very curious on how you get

a company legal team ready to file a class action suit from " 4-7 calls daily, 5-7 days weekly???" Inquiring minds would like to know:-)

What is wrong with your thought process, it is slow EVERYWHERE for EVERYONE. Why do you have to think that someone put you on a blacklist? Are you guilty of something?

How much do you charge per signing to be able to afford a legal team?

Maybe they use DEWEY CHEATEM AND HOWE, LLC.

Hi all,

Let me just say that that "old, established" law firm has been around for some time.

According to a recent news article, the partners at DEWEY, CHEATUM and HOWE have established a new law firm specifically for handling the impending legal action of Notary Signing Agents who are no longer being called by Signing Services, Title Companies or Lenders. Look of a local office of LOVEM, LIKEM, and HOWE, LLP, coming to a storefront near you.

Two Words: Crack Kills

Chill out, don't you think you sound just a bit paranoid?? You can sue people for not using you--you're an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, and they can choose or NOT choose who they want to work with.

However, did you do something you need to come clean on, and your conscience is getting you??

it would probably be me for some of the things I've said about SSs on this board, yet the calls just keep coming in. Perhaps a little introspection would clear up your concerns. But you are probably just a troll.

Why would you think that all signing services and title companies are conspiring against you? What would lead you to believe that they would do this to you? Have you done something so horrible that no signing service or title company would ever want to call you again? That's very unlikely and you sound a little paranoid. And, it's a free world, we are independant contractors, and if a signing service or title company doesn't want to call you, you can't sue them for it! It's been slow for me this week, it comes and goes. Some weeks, I'm so busy I don't know whether I'm coming or going. Then, the next thing you know, nothing!!! Last week, I was very busy, but this week it's dead. That's just how it goes sometimes. Hang in there, and don't be so negative.

Oy Vey!

So this is the level of quality the posts on this board has sunk to? People thinking they're blacklisted during what is clearly a lull in the business all over?

I seriously don't know whether to laugh or cry. I just hope this is a joke that is just a bit too subtle for this board. The last couple of sentences lead me to think it is. Otherwise I'm surprised that the poster had the brain power to find this board in the first place.

Re: Oy Vey!

You know, it is no wonder all the experienced agents are leaving this board. This anonymous person sounds like the person from last week causing trouble. It is one thing to leave a disagreeing remark, but some of these posts are just to cause havic. Some people are actually trying to get useful information here, but that is becoming difficult with all the immature anonymous posts!

One possible future for this board

"Some people are actually trying to get useful information here, but that is becoming difficult with all the immature anonymous posts!"

I seriously don't know why Harry hasn't changed the format of this board to force people to register and pick a username before they can post on the board. This place is becoming more and more useless every day and it's really a pretty easy solution to turn things around.

Just as this forum has developed a reputation as a great resource for new and experienced signing agents, it will soon enough get the reputation as a troll infested bickering playground for clueless newbies. And some enterprising person will realize that there's a great opportunity to start a competing website that does it right. After all, it's becoming clear that the money in this industry is moving away from being a signing agent and toward creating new agents. Who all need notary supplies. Some competitive prices on supplies, a better message board format, a little time for word of mouth to spread and Notary Rotary could find itself in deep doo doo.

Re: Yep, you're blacklisted. And they're calling me instead

Any part of the real estate business is all about referrals and networking. I am brand new to signing but I've been a realtor for years. I took my notary test on the 10th, ordered the book to get certified and went on line to check the test out and took it and passed it before the book arrived. I went down the list of signing services here registering and I have 5 signings set up between this Saturday and next Wednesday. I started reading this board to meet people and network. That's my point about referrals. I made a great living in real estate but I just can't do it anymore because of a bad back and driving buyers around 10 hours a day kills me. I got all my business in real estate being nice to those clients that i wanted to throw out of my car. Guess who they called when their brother/sister/mother/father needed a house?? ME!!! It's the same thing here. If you do your job and you are polite to people that will get around you will get work. Most of the posts I read here tonight were either down right mean or sarcastic and certainly uncalled for. We're all professionals and we should treat not only our clients but our peers with professionalism also. I believe that will make your phone ring and when others aren't getting work you will. I think it's easier to say a kind word and help someone out that needs help than it is to be mean and give a smart&&& answer. It starts RIGHT HERE!!! I will treat everyone with respect and would hope I get the same treatment. I have to admit that i'm a bit discouraged being brand new and reading the amount of rude things I have read here. I'll do my part to keep it clean and if we all just think a little bit before we post I think this board will be a better place for taking that effort. I hope you all make LOTS of money and I look forward to getting to know you. AND I certainly don't mean that EVERY post i read here was mean or off color there were plenty of nice ones too. The nasty ones are the ones that stick out though and they are the ones that give our business a black eye. Good luck to you all!!!! Mike

Not a chance. However, you may be getting some retribution from the State of Arkansas, Department of Computer Services.
