Power of Attorney question

I had a call from someone that would like me to be there when a POA is signed. I know I can only certify that the copy is a copy of a POA, I can not certify an original correct? so my question is: Do they need to have the POA all filled out and signed then make a copy of it so that I can certify the copy? I am in the process of looking up the information and I have read the handbook I just want to make sure I take the right steps and understand how to handle this properly before the set time. Any help would be appreciated.

Cathy,
You can notarize a POA in CA. Review your handbook. You cannot help them fill it out, so you are correct, that they should have it all filled out beforehand. The notarial wording should be on the bottom, or you should add a loose leaf. Hope this helps!

Thank you! Yes, a very big help. Re-read that section in the handbook again a couple of times these things are simple as long as we know what we are doing so I try to review the sections in the handbook before appts. like this just to reassure myself. I really appreciate your response.
