Print name under signature?
Do you print your name under your signature every time you sign, even if you stamp clearly right next to the signature line?
Thanks for your input! Toni

I do, because it is required in Florida.
Although I have seen some Florida notaries that don't, I believe they think that because they stamp near their signature it is enough - but it isn't. Florida clearly calls for your seal and your name printed under your signature as two separate elements of the notary certificate.

I do. It is not required in Ky but I got into the habit a long time ago and it just carries on.

I have a stamp with small type. It has 3 lines, my name (as commissioned), "notary public state of maryland", and "my commission expires september 23, 2006". I usually can squeeze it in the less than adequate space provided. Meets requirements of name and commission expiration date (space often left off for this) required in MD.

I am a Florida notary and this is a requirement, in addition to affixing our rubber stamp seal. I think it is the most stupid and obnoxious requirement ever. First of all, 90% of pre-printed forms don't have the space for it, and you just have to hand-write it in unless you have a typewriter around or separate stamp with just your name. I don't understand why I need to write my name, IN ADDITION to signing my name, stamping my name, and embossing my name. Does my name need to appear 4 times? Not really, but the state thinks I do.
SO... I nevertheless do it every time, even though every other notary in the state doesn't do it or doesn't realize that you need to do it.
