Printing Edocs @ Kinko's Etc

Has anyone used the typical copy places to print PDF edocs and have a feel for the price and feasibility?

I had 2 signings from one company very near eachother outside my city recently. The docs weren't ready on time for the first one and after waiting forever, they told me to go ahead and hit the second one. Later that night, they tried to reach me to do the first one but I didn't get their call. I was considering finding a Kinko's in that city to see if I could have the docs printed there for me versus driving back to my home and back out to the borrowers. Just considering other options should the situation arise again in the future.

Unfortunately, I'm not in a position yet to consider mobile printing in my car. Any info regarding experience with these places would be appreciated. TIA

Although some signing agents have used Kinko's for printing their edocs, it is not a good practice. There are privacy issues here.
I know if I was a borrower I would not want the staff at Kinko's having access to my sensitive information.

If you use Kinko's be sure you tell them you have a ream of your own paper (always keep at least one of both in your trunk). They will let you use your paper. They charge close to $1 a sheet to use theirs, but they charge $0.08 to put yours in their printer and use it. If you can take a GB thumb drive (Sandisk) and download your file and let them print off of that. They charge x-amount per minute for using their web connection which will take time to down load and then print your docs. So, if you can, take your thumb drive with the file and your own paper and ask all questions up front of using and price they will charge you. I had the same situation one day and it saved me a 1½ hour time frame by not having to run home/office, download docs, print two sets and then drive back to the area (1 mile away) that I was near already. Yes it cost $20, but it saved me $$ and I just charged for printing those docs and they company was glad to pay it because all (borrower, company and me) of us were dealing with time frames.
Good luck

When my old printer had "issues" I used Kinkos to print a couple of packages. I checked my receipts and I was only charged .08 a page. I didn't supply my own paper.

That's the price they told me. They must have really didn't want to do it then. Good for you on the $0.08

Re: Printing E-docs @ Kinko's Etc

Kinko's charges $0.08 per legal page period, whether you supply the paper or not. Therefore, it's cheaper to just let them supply the paper.

It's also cheaper to email the file to Kinko's rather than using their computers and paying an hourly fee.

I have had many title companies and lenders check to find the nearest Kinko's to my current location and then email the docs to them for me to pick up on my travels (Kinko's has a website that has a search engine to find the nearest store). Since I have GPS, it's easy enough to make a side trip to Kinko's for docs, once I'm given the street address.

In the cases where the title companies or lenders do this, there are obviously additional fees to perform these duties. Two sets of legal sized docs of over 100 pages per each will come to approximately $20.00 or more (including tax). Then there's the detour to the Kinko's and then the regular travel fee to the signing.

The one thing I do like about picking up docs at Kinko's is not having to babysit my printer at home.

One other note: Kinko's has stringent confidentially policies regarding everything they print there.

I had a problem with my printer a couple of weeks ago (printed part of thedocs then crashed) I live in the country and only service near the borrower was (believe it or not ) was Staples. I e=mailed the docs to them and by the time I got to where they were located, they had printed and stacked the documents. They only charged me .07 a page, so I still had some of the printing fee I charged left.

IF THERE IS A TIME PROBLEM, AND OTHER SIGNINGS, I HAVE THE COMPANY WHO NEEDS THE CLOSING TO SEND DIRECTLY TO KINKOS AND THEY PAY FOR IT WITH THEIR DISCOUNT. I STILL CHARGE FOR DOCS, SINCE I HAVE TO MAKE AN ALTERNATE TRIP TO KINKOS. ALLOW 2 HRS.
