Rude Notary

I just called a notary Gustavo Diaz in the Mine Hill, NJ area and I can not believe what a horrible response he gave our company. He said he did no know me and he does not want to speak to me! What is this all about? If you have your name posted at a website for contacting then why would you treat a company like that who is calling you to give you business? I would suggest that no one give this person any business at all. I have been doing this for 3 years and I have never spoken to anyone so rude and obviously unintelligent in my time here. Cant imagine how he must act when he is at a closing!

How come you are posting anonymously? It does not give credibility to your posting.

Is that not what you just did? Salnder him? Plus tell EVERYONE not to hire him? I beleive you remain anonymous, because you are probably some thief-in-the-night SS that does not pay anyone.

Do you think many noteries on this board, use, or hire other notaries? The guy probably knows you are some deadbeat SS, and doesn't want to waste his time. Why don't you post on, or start a Signing Service board?

Well, I help run a signing services and I for one will not ever call upon this person. There is so many rude people out there and we need to weed them out!! And yes, signing services do read these boards and we do take notes on people and their attitudes, so watch what you say.

Re: Oh Boy We're Shakin

Little Crystal that helps (or services as she says) run a signing service can state a notary's name and state and can rag on him but she can't state her fulll name, state or company so he can defend himself. Are you about 18 years old with a GED. THIS IS WHY WE HATE YOU AND OTHER SIGNING COS.

So you're going to take one anonymous slanderous post as gospel about the quality of a signing agent? I sure hope your capacity in helping run the signing service is limited to fetching lunch and emptying trashcans at the end of the day. I'm pretty sure that running a successful business requires the capacity for independent thought, something you're obviously incapable of.

Baaaaaaaaaaa.

Wow, you guys should really do something about your anger issues--there is no need to get ugly. Just remember, we are watching these boards very closely.

It's not anger at all, I just call em as I see them when I see stupid statements like yours. And yes, for you to say "I won't hire that person" after an anonymous post by somebody who clearly has an agenda against a certain person IS a stupid statement.

As for you watching the boards very closely, why exactly should I be worried about that? Think before you answer sweetie.

Hi Crystal!
Glad to hear you've got a job.
I'm not being anonymous, so you can check on me.
Be sure to read all my posts. Oh, and if your boss at the SS says not to call me. I'll just be devastated. What will I do without your $40?? I guess I really better watch what I say? Don't worry, I'll be careful just for you.

Sorry I said anything, I was only trying to help here. We as a signing agent run across so many issues with a handful of notaries and I was only trying to help out. We are a VERY reputable company and Yes signing agents do read these boards all the time. I will certainly watch the next time I try to help out.
Thank you and have a nice day!

Let me explain what happened: According to Verizon my wireless company my phone number somehow ended transferred to one of the clients that I called this morning to confirm a closing for tomorrow. I was not aware of the situation until one of the companies that gives me a lot of work sent me an e-mail concerned because they could not get a hold of me and rude person was answering the phone. It seems that this person who was getting my calls was telling everybody to stop calling the number and to stop bothering him. He was not nice enough to said: "You are calling the wrong number".

Finally my wife was able to get a hold of Verizon to fix this problem since she also called me and instead of getting her super professional signing agent husband she got this rude person at the end of the line. Verizon fixed the problem and I'm now back on business.

I did not know that people were taking about me on the forum, until I checked my messages and a good samaritan left one advising me to take a look.

I also was able to talk to some of the people that called me and received the nasty treatment from this guy and they were understanding. I was very upset since I've been trying to build a very professional and reputable image and something crazy like this happens.

The awkward thing is that still I have to go tomorrow and do this closing. Wish me luck.

Gustavo

Well, Gustavo, you nipped that thread in the bud, didn't you? Keyboards were beginning to smoke. Glad to hear it was all a misunderstanding. Maybe this will teach some people not to jump to conclusions so quickly. They could have lost a great notary.

Have a great signing.

Well, how about an apology?

You posted something awful about someone and now it turns out it wasn't him. What do you have to say? You had no problem throwing his name out there, but YOU hide like vermin.

Gustavo needs an apology, yes!!!

A simple thing that was a glitch in Verizon phone service. The KISS principle reads... Keep it simple, stupid.

Jeez...this is horrible that a signing company would post such a terrible thing against a SA who simply had a problem with phone service.....

I agree he needs an apology but will they post their name with it. We should all know who can give it out but when they are wrong are they willing to let us know who they are.

I hang up on SSs

SSs pay notaries less than half the closing fee. Good SSs pay 45-60 days out. If they pay at all.

Why the heck would I work for them when I get TC work at $125+ a pop? And get paid within 2 weeks?

I pay $100 a month for cell service. SSs do not deserve any of my cell phone minutes.

All my notary directory listings and my website say that I do not accept work from SSs. Heck with them if they don't bother to read.

Re: I hang up on SSs...Understandable, but...

Some of us will not post our identities because of the generalization you made, and the jumping on the band wagon tactics some employ on this board.

I run a SS, and I pay from, $100.00 (minimum pay) to $150.00+ depending on what is required. All my confirmation E-Mails to notary signing agents explain to them I pay twice per month, and I identify the pay period cut off dates. Any notary signing agent with whom I have contracted can verify that I make out the payroll on the day promised, and the date on my postage meter prints the date on which I promised to pay, and I personally take the checks to the post office. While I have not been in business a long time, no one has ever had to contact me to ask for the payment promised.

It's okay with me that you believe we "do not deserve" your cell phone minutes. But do you have to group my company in with the companies that have been identified as low/slow/no pay companies? When I see a person does not want a SS to call him, I respect that; I understand it. Couldn't you too be a little more understanding for those of us who are stand up companies? After all, I was a notary signing agent who built a thriving business and reputation. After reading the complaints about SS, I decided to open a SS where Notary Signing Agents are treated with good pay and respect, so naturally I cringe a little everytime someone makes such a generalized statement. The reason being that people see it so much that they are leary to take a job from the more reputable company like mine.

Some of my title companies are several thousand dollars in arrears with payments, but I never let that affect the notary signing agents. They accepted my contract, so it does not matter if I am paid or not. I still pay the notary signing agent. I do not makes excuses; I do not lie; and the buck, so to speak, stops with me.

Anyway, I have that off my chest, and I hope you do not perceive me as being offensive. Thank you for taking the time to read this message.

Re: I hang up on SSs...Understandable, but...

If you really do run a good, honest, credible SS. Why remain anonymous? I would think there are many good, experienced, notaries out there that would like to work for such a company. And if what you say is true, may have worked for you?
I've been in this (NSA) business for years. I have NEVER NOT been paid by a Title Company. NEVER! Not so with Signing Services! Why is it that EVERY DAY you will see posts on this board, and others, from notaries about not getting paid (again) from such-and -such Signing Service? Why? Because this business is rampent with deadbead, dishonest, lying, ignorant, thieving Signing Servicses posing as legitimate businesses! If I were a honest, legitimate, truthfull, Signing Service, in a business mostly populated with thieves, I would shout it from the rooftops!! Not skukl around anonymously!
