She's blind; not deaf--she'll be able to hear you sing! (Sorry, couldn't resist) Now, about the signing: NO... daughter cannot sign for her UNLESS daughter has Power of Attorney to do so and, if so, the Lender/SS/Title Co. MUST know in advance about the POA. Best bet, call whoever hired you and ASK. Can't go wrong that way.

The daughter doesn't fill out the ACK you do. What state are you located? Different states have different laws regarding notarizing for the the blind. If the daughter has a POA, check with the SS or TC if it is all right to use it, and do they need an orginal returned with the docs or do they already have one. If she is signing, be prepared to spend a long time there. I have done one with a couple and he was blind. Place a credit card or license just under where they are to sign, this helps them to identify where to place their pen.

I think you need to send your notary stamp back to your Secretary of State. You don't even know that you're the one who completes an acknowledgement? What in the hell makes you think you're qualified to notarize anything when you clearly have no idea what you're doing?

With a response like that, why would any newbie ask for help on this board? Ask a dumb question and get attacked!!! Who was it that said "the only stupid question is the one you don't ask"??? I'm not a newbie and I know better than to have the signer complete the acks, but gee whiz, give the newbie a break! He/she was just asking for our help!

First, you should check the statutes in your state regarding the blind. In Florida, if it is a notary conducting the closng, the notary is required under state statute 117.05 (14) (a) to read the documents to a blind person.

Check your Notary State Statutes regarding people with disabilities.
