Software for SS's
I realize that this is a board that is designed primarily for SA's questions but I know that there are quite a few reputable SS's that post here to. So....I was wondering if anyone knew of any scheduling software that works well in this industry (for a SS)? Any input that you may have would be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance.

I am not an SS and don't pretend to know what you might need but as an engineer I have used software to schedule multiple events. If there isn't something specific for SSs perhaps something along the lines of Critical Path Method (CPM) software (or PERT, project evaluation and revue technique) could be easily modified. Search CPM in Google, a number of different types of software will show up. One of the nice things about CPM is that you have a very well defined way of determining what is holding up the process because the critical path changes and highlights the item that is on the critical path. Scheduling contactors has become a major consideration in the construction industry and there have been numerous systems developed for it.

Don't even know if this is what you're talking about but Negretes & AMR have the same software for SA database. But gotta say what Charles is talking about sounds waaaay cool.

Would any SA's care to share what software
they use or method of tracking. Always looking for a better way of doing things.

Quite frankly, I like my Franklin planner, but...
I also use ACT to maintain my signings, invoicing, phone calls, marketing, etc. I tried using a PDA but found it cumbersome. Guess I'm old fashion (or old - lol) but there is nothing like pen and paper! (And my previous career was in computers!)

I just purchased Notary Tracker from Brainmonger. Haven't installed it yet. Once I do, I will let you know how it works and if I like it. Sounded good on the advertisement.

Re: Would any SA's care to share what software
I use Outlook's calendar for scheduling because it holds all the data I need and will pop up reminders.
For tracking, I use an Excel spreadsheet for each year. It gives me per-month information as well as a running total of signings, profit, etc. If you would like a sanitized copy (fake borrower and signing service names, etc.) please click on my profile and send an email message. Caveat: The spreadsheet works for me, your mileage may vary. I'm not volunteering to teach you all about Excel, but I will help where I can. Your suggestions for improvements are welcome!

Would u send some comments about this felicita sofware. I used that " tracker " until a problem with a header poped up. I tried looking at the website but it appears to be down at this time. Thank you. Check my profile for the address.
