I did a signing for them in July. I am waiting to get paid. I will let you know when I do. Where are you in NY?

I received a call from them early this afternoon for a signing in Germantown tomorrow. I can't seem to find out anything about them. I have had such a problem getting paid from certain signing companies lately that I just do not want to chance it.
I am in Lake Katrine, NY. You?

It took them 3 months to pay me, with many phone calls to them.

I did one for them a few years ago - that first step with them was my "Final Step"
They paid slow and shortchanged me!

to Slyvia

How long should I wait to start nudging them? This was the first one I did for them. There pay was okay and when the docs were late they upt my fee. Now I am wondering if it was easy for them since they weren't going to pay me. I am not going to worry. I will eat tomorrow.

Re: to Slyvia

I personally never made it to the signing with Final Step. Within one week (in May) received two calls with verbal confirmation, that were later cancelled. I began to ask other SA's in my locale about their contact with Final Step - same experience. Seems they lack organization or maybe they put you on hold while they shop around for cheaper SA's. On the phone they seem like nice folks though.

Then the third call came about 3 weeks later while I was at another signing. A man left a message saying he was from "National Signing". I noticed that it was same area code (410) but didn't think about it since "National Signing" sounds nothing like "Final Step".

When I returned the man's call, the receptionist answers "Final Step". Then I ask for him by name (all the while a little confused about exactly which company I'm dealing with). When he answers I apologize for being a little disoriented, due to the fact that I intended to return a call to "National Signing" but was greeted "Final Step".

He just chuckled and said "yea, at times I just use a general description when I leave a message". I thought why would you do that unless you're trying to be shady or deceptive? Or, perhaps you know that your company has a bad rap and you're trying to obscure that.

Anyway, as he was describing the particulars of the signing all I heard was "blah, blah, blah". I had made up my mind to never work for them. Thinking into the future, who knows what name my check would come in, if I ever got one at all.

Re: to Slyvia

Thanks, it has been maybe 2 weeks that is why I am not going to worry.
