Trip Fees
When you are asked to notorize only one paper instead of a loan package what is the customary amount to charge for the trip? I want to be fair but at the same time not undercut myself. I presume it would be a certain amount per mile. Do you generally charge the same amount per mile that you would charge for going out of your area? Thanks.

If it's my area I usually charge $35.00. Out of my area I calculate additional mileage.

Build yourself a map with fee zones, just like you do for your base signing fees.
I suggest $25-$35 as a minimum depending on the client. (Some expect a higher base fee than others.)
I also tack on a "per seal" fee.
Gas here just went to $3.14. I have become more detailed with my fee schedule so I don't give away the farm.
