Using PMB service for doc delivery/business address

For those of you working from your home as mobile notaries/signing agents...when you advertise or promote your services, do you use your home address or an alternate address?

The reson I ask is this...I just moved into a brand new apartment complex (LA area), and a lot of the residents are pretty, well....they're all pretty uptight for some reason. The leasing company is fully aware that I am running my business from home, and approved of it before we moved in, the only condition was that no customer could come to me...I would always go to them. That hasn't been a problem. In the years I've done this, nobody has come knocking on my door out of the blue. They've always called first.

The problem I'm now having is that some of the neighbors are complaining about various delivery trucks and couriers knocking on my door for doc deliveries. I probably get 1-2 deliveries a day, not a ton but enough that the neighbors notice and are now whining to management, especially if I don't happen to be home when they arrive....so my packages are left in the office.

I've been trying to push email docs, but a few of the companies I work with prefer to send the package to me instead. I don't care either way.

The manager said they don't have a problem, but to appease the uptight neighbors (one of whom seems to think I'm a drug dealer!) they want me to move my package delivery to the UPS store down the street. They offered to pay for the first 6 months rental for me as a way of "apologizing" since they originally agreed to the situation in the first place.

I'm thinking this might be a good idea. The place is a 5 minute walk from my door, and I can have all of my business correspondence sent there instead of my home. All of the couriers and delivery services can drop of packages for me, and no whiny neighbors.

Anyway, do any of you use a PMB service? I can't use a PO BOX because that's US MAIL only, and most of my docs come FedEX or CalOvernight.

I use a UPS store for our overnight packages. It works great for us because 1) We had a UPS driver break in our house and steal some things before so the less traffic at our house, the better. 2) Besides our overnight signing packages, we get any other package delivered there too, and we never have to worry about being home to accept them, worrying about if someone will steal them or if neighbors will get tired of receiving them when we're not home. 3) Of course, you're close to your local UPS Store, but anyway, you can call them every time you are awaiting packages/mail to see if it came in before wasting your time going to check mail.

We actually use this address for regular mail and parcels - for all personal and business stuff. I think it's a good idea to not have so many checks coming to our home. Many financial-type companies are now recommending personal mailboxes to help prevent identity theft as well.
