Venting - FEDEX

Dropped off a package at the fedex box at 9:00 AM.
Box pickup is 5:00 PM
Dropped another package same box at 4:47PM (checked watch since if couldn't make that box would have to drive 10 miles to a 7:00 PM box)

Call from SS next day saying didn't get package (2nd one I dropped).
Checked on web and found that first package had a timestamp of 4:44.

Truck was running early and package didn't get picked up until the next day. !!!!

I'd be calling Fedex and throwing a major fit. They're not supposed to pick up before the specified time. The newer boxes have a "Picked up / Not picked up" sign on them, so you can see if the driver has been there yet, or not. But still, I'd call them. I don't know what recourse you have, but at least register a complaint.

This was a newer box. The "picked up" is there always - even at 9 AM. I did throw a fit with FEDEX.

Over the years, I've found the only surefire way to be certain of pickup is to hand deliver FedEx, USPS and UPS shipments directly to a human being.

Even with tracking numbers and hand delivery to the folks behind the counter in the post office, USPS has lost my packages on two occasions. I've since learned there are local post offices to avoid for just that reason.
