Veri-Docs attempting to rip me off

I have to ask, with gas prices and all of our prices going up on every item we buy to close these loans, this guy Brandin Sharlin with Veri Docs who agreed to my price now wants to reduce it because he thinks I am making too much money. With all of my cost tallied up I hardly think making 20.00 is ripping anyone off.
Any suggestions?

Debbie, I believe he needs to PAY you what he agreed to pay on the confirmation he sent you. If he's crying now he'll have a break down when he sees how expensive this Mobile deal gets! I just saw on the news that GA gas prices are now at $5.00/gal. I really think that the rest of us are not going to be to far behind. Everything is going to go up in price, and I mean everything!

God Bless

I have to agree, I have written a long letter to the Veri Docs Accountting and will see where it goes, I am very annoyed and wish I had not bothered. Won't repeat that mistake!

Good Thinking Debbie! I know for the last month I've been taking a past on SS that I know will not increase their fees, I just can't afford to take their jobs and miss out on a job from TC or better SS that pays you in a fair manner. I got " The Message" when I saw what the clients' were being charged- up to $350.00 !! And they have the nerve to think we charge to much LOL. By comparision we are all Dirt Cheap!! I hate to break to these SS we are in BUSINESS and we have a great deal of expenses we need to pay, just like them. And we get paid (hopefully) once a month! I'll better they would "have a horse" if they didn't get their paycheck every week.

Re: Typo

Yes, I had to write a letter, go cool off and come back and clean it up, same way!

This is what I tried to explain. I have set up almost 2500.00 for a home office just for this, the ongoing expense of E&O, auto, paper, toner and as you know the list goes on. I think they are being incrediably cheap. When they call around and no one will do a closing for that price they will be forced to pay the asking price.
Will see what happens, he has really ticked me off!

At least that fool will not be me. It is not like it does not cost us anything to be in business for crying out loud, it just makes me nuts when you see they are getting 300-500 and they want to cheap out!

I have to agree! And it's not just gas, ink, paper, toner, equipment, etc.. They don't seem to realize that, as independent contractors, we have the additional Social Security tax and have to provide our own benefits, like health insurance (EXPENSIVE!) and a retirement plan (ha! ha! ha!...but when I can't afford the health insurance, it won't matter because I'll die before I retire!). And we don't get paid vacations!

It's not just the time we have involved in that one specific closing, either. At some point, we have to do our accounting/bookkeeping, taxes (which are much more complicated and time consuming to do than when I was an employee!), shopping for office supplies, etc..

And then there are the companies who want you to not only do the closing, etc., but they also want you to fax back 15 sheets or so after closing, but they don't want to pay a dime extra for this!

Thanks for letting me vent a little! But, overall, I enjoy this work a lot, and it definitely beats working as a legal assistant, which I did for 19 years!
