how can anyone get anything done...

when an ss calls for 3 different signings, emails the paperwork for one, but the only phone number listed is a fax # so I call them and they say they will get back to me and they dont. Signing is for tomorrow. The other 2 never appeared in my email- both for tomorrow so I have no idea who the borrowers are, etc and by the time I got home the ss was long ago closed for the day

If you've booked your time for assignments and you've got no way to confirm...after calls to the SS., I wouldn't go. Also many times, (such as last night, for me) you wait until the last minute for e-docs. The problem we face is that we don't know if the lender is trying to shove stuff thru the pipeline and chances are it won't happen or if they are on the up and up. Personally, I would call this am and find out what's going on and if I get nowhere and another assignment comes thru, I'd take it.

I have often wondered how different things would be....

if every loan officer would spend some time as a signing notary. From what I have seen the signing services and the title companies have to deal with whatever the loan officer hands them (lack of phone numbers, not working phone numbers, misspelled names).

Of course, the notary has to deal with all of that.
