incorrect date

I just notarized some documents for an escrow closing and I put an incorrect date on the documents. The signers did not have copies of the documents. I crossed out the incorrect date (month) and put the correct date and initialed next to the correction. Is this going to be ok?

You put an incorrect date on what. Was it an Ack or a Jurat, it is fine for you to correct and initial. Was it a document like an Identification Verification that you as a signing agent signed, yes it is o.k. for you to cross thru and correct and initial. Now if you are talking about the borrowers docs, they should be dating them, if there is an error made with the date, they correct and initial. Hope this helps.
