question about last minute edocs
I got a call for a signing yesterday that is to take place today at 6:00pm. Is it typical to get edocs at the last minute even when they scheduled the signing the day before? I have done a search and I read the previous posts about edocs, specifically the post about having to cancel the signing because the edocs never came (but was that a last minute signing?)
My signing yesterday was canceled due to edoc technical error but they had scheduled the sigining at 3:30 for 6:30. Just want to know how long to wait before calling to check status of edocs?
Thanks

It is quite common to get docs at the last minute even if you have been given a weeks scheduling in advance.

As I'm sitting here hitting refresh, refresh, refresh..
waiting for my flipping edocs for a signing that was supposed to happen 1/2 an hour ago-yes, edocs are always late, no matter when they've scheduled.
I have a 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5:30 and now this is throwing my whole schedule down the toilet!! GRRRRR!

call the borrowers and tell them you don't have their docs, reschedule for later. GO!...don't wait and screw up everyone else and cause yourself all this stress.

I agree with Sara. I like to tell the TC or SS that I've have bad experiences with them and you need time to review them in order to prevent any errors before you print (waste your ink and paper) the docs and rush to the signers. Remember, you are the one the signers will see and bitch to when you are late. The TC or SS may also bitch at you for missing signatures also. It's a tough situation. I like to give myself a 45 minute time buffer to review and also print out the docs before I have to leave.

Re: Give em a time deadline...
Well, I did that tonight! Called at 8:30 AM for a signing due at 7:00 PM. They didn't have a contact number or anything, except an address. OK, said I, who had done stuff for the SS before. They will call me when they have the rest of the info. All day, no call. Finally, I called them, and told them I was going out for dinner and when I got back, I was gonna be too drunk, probably, to do the signing. I just got home; it's 8:00 PM and I haven't heard from them. I turned down a couple of signings 'cause I was figuring this one would be ready. Never again. No info, no contract. No docs, no contract. They're gonna have to give me info and a firm time of I'll have to give up on a ghost.

My words are the same waiting on docts for a signing 20 miles away even though I live in a 24/7 town I to get tired so I guess they will just have to wait till tomarrow to do this signing as by the time I get the docts check them and print them it will have been past midnight. LINDA R
