GRRR- What a morning
I was on vacation last week and returned Saturday. I got back in town at 4pm Sat and before I left I scheduled a signing for Sat at 7:30pm. I was going to be coming straight from the airport and my husband would be bringing the docs. I told the title company to let me know Friday by email if there wer any changes. Sure enough, it was cancelled, Lender could not get the docs ready by Friday afternoon for Sat Delivery. This signing has been scheduled 2 prior Saturdays but was cancelled. Borrower travels during the week for his job and only has Saturday. Then I had one scheduled for today at 3pm, then they called Friday to see if I could to it at 1pm, I said no problem. Waiting on docs this morning for 1pm closing and get call that it is moved back to 3pm. Now I get a call that it is rescheduled for Tomorrow at 11am.
I try to be flexible but PLEASE!!!
I just got back from HUD training for HUD REAC CERTIFICATION - WHAT A WEEK!!!
I will be doing HUD REAC inspections starting 1/2006. With the potential to make a lot more money with less work. Don't we all want that.

Margaret if you don't mind can you tell me what the pay range inspectors receive? Is that pre-determined by HUD? Seeing that we "love" to drive so much it sounds like it would be a decent way to go.
I'm sure they will be keeping you Very busy in FL.

Ted, it is a reverse auction where you know the most hud will pay for this property. They can start at $250 to $1500 depending of the size of the property. Hud has an estimate on how long the inspection should take but you always allow more. It is best to only schedule 1 inspection a day. One inspection can take as little as two hours to 4 days. You can only do the inspections from 9am-4pm. You must have a property representative with you at all times. So you have to break for lunch when they do. You can start at 9am, then break at 12pm for lunch, then resume at 1pm-4pm. If you can not complete this inspection that day, you must come back and cannot work past what the property representative is willing to work. If they will not work past 4, then you must come back. Most times if you only need 1 more hour or 1/2 hour, they will stay instead of continuing the next day.
You get assigned the inspection, you call the property to schedule. You have 4 months to complete the inspection but are encouraged to schedule within 2 weeks.
If they inspections are local or within driving distance, you can bid low. If they out of town you can bid on a lot of several inspections for 1 town and schedule them all in that same week.

More changes, changed from Tuesday at 11:00pm to Today at 5pm, now as of 5pm has been changed to tomorrow at 1pm. I have a headache. Wheres my tylenol?

My GRRR - No docs - Western Finance/ CO. Vent
I took an assignment on Friday for today from Western Finance/CO.
The confirmation never came through. The docs were supposed to come on Saturday and they did not.
I tried to call the number that was on my caller ID this morning. Got a recording and a guy named Seth said leave a message, but apparently his voice mail was full.
Went on about my business and figured they just blew me off.
At 3 pm the scheduler called and wanted to know about the closing? What's going on, etc.
Me: I have no conf., I have no docs.
She insisted that I had a conf and docs. She said she had a receipt from me. I told her I seldom send a receipt - NO I DO NOT have the conf.
Yes you do. I did not get a message that it bounced (story changed.) I got a confirmation that I sent it. (okay, fine.)
No. I do not.
I asked if I could have the FEDEX number and track it. She said she would track it.
She called back. Said FEDEX left it in the box and it would be delivered tomorrow.
I told her I had tried to call this morning and she grilled me like I was lying. Then she told me there was NO SETH there...so, WHAT NUMBER DID YOU DIAL? WHAT TIME?
Finally, I realized that she was acting like it was all about something I did wrong. The more I tried to tell her that I did not understand or know about this, the LOUDER she got with me and talked over me and would not listen.
I told her our relationship had disintegrated and she should find another notary to do this. She got really mad and told me that the docs were on the way to me and they would be here tomorrow.
AT some point she said I should check the tracking myself and I'd see it was sent out on Friday for Sat. delivery.
I tried to talk with her but she would not let me speak and just talked over me rapidly and loudly. FInally, I ended the call. I hate for people to talk over me and bully me on the phone.
She called back and said fine you are off the assignment. She asked how to get the docs from me. Told her I'd work with whomever needed help on it but I did not want her to have to work with someone she obviously had no respect for.
Looked up the FEDEX # tracking. It was a typical "data transmitted to Fedex" but nothing about it being dropped off - generated the tracking number and label on the 9th.
By 7 pm, it had been "picked up" and was on its way here.
Supposed to be del'd by 10:30 am tomorrow.
It sounds to me like the package was either not sent until today, or it was dropped at a box that was not going to be picked up until today...it was not generated until after 5 pm. I just betcha someone dropped at a box that is only weekday service...if it was dropped at all. I cannot help but wonder.
Obviously, I could not have caused this package to be delayed but she was so ugly to me that I wondered if I'd ever get paid from these people. I see some have good reviews, some have bad. I guess I'll just miss out if they are good, because I did not care for all that bully conversation she was rapid firing at me.
I am really sick of the thought process that a $75 fee for a mobile home refi gives them the right to berate me for no reason and stilll expect me to go do the job. You get more flies with honey....
If she'd have just called, found out I was outside the loop and then said Okay, how can we fix this and git 'er done? I would have been more than happy to help.
