Hospitals or Nursing Homes

Has anyone found it profitable to offer notary public services to hospitals or nursing homes? I thought it might be a good filler, but not sure if there is any market for it. Thanks.

We have tried this in the past with a mailing and with no response, follow up phone calls revealed that most have a notary on staff. However we do get the occasional call to perform notarial duties but it comes from the yellow page ad.

If you do them make sure to ask before going

Does the person have their ID with them?
Is the document all filled out, call me when it is.
Is permission from the Omsbudsman at the hospital or nursing home needed to notarize a POA. If you don't ask this, and you notarize it, it can create problems.

Example, the patient is in the nursing home. They can not pay for the nursing home, but have property. The state will take care of the cost, deduct it from the property when the patient passes. You just notarized a POA for the son, he puts a lein or sells the property.
Someone will be in court.
