How many of you have used the......
Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS). Is it required. I will probably get blasted but I just started working in October and the next payment for this system is in January. I am just wondering if it is required or can I use my own savings account for this? TIA

EFTPS-OnLine (eftps.gov) is a secure government Web site that uses the highest level of security available. Every user must have a secure Internet browser with 128-bit encryption in order to access the site. To log on to the system, an enrolled user must be authenticated with three pieces of unique information known only to the user: Taxpayer Identification Number (EIN or SSN), EFTPS Personal Identification Number (PIN), and an Internet Password. The combination of these three pieces of identification adds to the security of the site and the privacy of taxpayer data. It is not **required** that you use, but a nice option.

Paul...
...do you utilize EFTPS yourself? If so, what's been your experience as far as ease of use, etc. I just went to their web site & completed the forms they require to be set up.

I want to know more about what you are talking about. Do you know a website I can browse?

Not required...
if you are only a sole proprietor and have no other employees than yourself. There may be different requirements if you incorporate your notary company as an S Corp, LLC, etc. I just pay estimated taxes (federal, state, city) every quarter, and see no benefit for me to doing it the other way.
