I'm pooped
This month has been extremely busy for me. Today alone has worn me out. One Borrower, four purchase loans. They were supposed to be delivered to Borrower on Saurday, and signing was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. this morning. This morning at 7:00 a.m. Borrower calls to tell me that docs didn't arrive on Saturdaqy and that he would keep me abreast of the situation. I rearranged some of my afternoon signings to this morning.
My 4 purchase signings were drawn up by a Georgia law firm representing Seller. Borrower calls me at noon to tell me docs just arrived. Signings rescheduled to 4:00 p.m. Law firm calls me at 2:00 to tell me they are e-mailing me a few docs that were missed in one of the loan packets.
We just begin signing docs and attorney calls and says that it is imperative that docs are delivered to them tomorrow morning in Georgia. I told the attorney that they may and they may not -- that I was not going to rush Borrower through the PURCHASE signings. She said to do what we could. Colorado is not a Witness state, but she said that Georgia required two witnesses, and neither one could be me. Borrower arranged for two of his friends to come -- one works for FedEx and one for DHL. Additionally, I had to attach a loose certificate to almost every ack. becuase they allowed me only about 1/2 inch for my seal.
As we got closer and closer to the 7:00 p.m. FedEx cutoff, the signing began looking more and more like a sweat shop assemply line -- we found it easier to work on the floor -- sign/initial, witness, witness, notarize. The FedEx guy was filling in tracking numbers and addresses in my journal while I was reviewing the docs and before putting them in FedEx envelopes. After I reviewed them, Borrower reviewed them. FedEx guy straightened all the pages and banded and DHL guy inserted and sealed envelopes.
Signing finished at 6:45. Got to FedEx at 6:59 p.m. - one minute before locking the doors. 4 purchase signings - 2 hours and 45 minutes.
