Just got a call?
From a wonderful service, I do enjoy working for, the signing was for 12-26-05, might be hard to fill not sure? However when I quoted the price it was the same ol same ol, allow me to see if I can get that approved? No call back, got it for less with another... This is a company that in the beginning of my notary work strongly suggested I lower my fees, I'd do more volume. thanked them and said I would considered that. The signing services sure want more then their fair share.

Lower your fees? You'd do more volume? That SS is feeding you a line of bull.

The SS's plea is, "please go the hole so we can make more money!!!". This week, I have had two calls like yours. Last night was a new version of the same thing, I accepted a signing after the caller got approval for my fee, then, about an hour later they called to cancel...I wonder why?
I still wish the SS person "MERRY CHRISTMAS".

Yes, there are actually many good signing services out there. I sent e-holidays cards to signing services and only two responded with Thanks, I found that interesting. I sent them as a business gester and one that responded is of course one of favorites.

Yes, it does get old after a while. As for the cards, I only sent to those title companies and signing services I do business with.

I got a call today from a SS that I have done work for from time to time. Usually they have simple (overnight docs) closings that I accept their $50 fee for if it's in my neighborhood. (The jobs take less than 20 min.) This time they had a closing for 12/23 that is in a high traffic area, (with a lot of shopping centers~2 days before Christmas!) email docs, fee of $85.00. I explained that my rock bottom fee for edocs is $90. The scheduler asked if I couldn't accept $85, "just this once". I explained that I did indeed, make an exception and accepted an $85 closing for them several months ago, only to be at the borrower's home from 6PM-9:30 PM. I took that as a sign that I should never lower my fee again! lol (She said the usual..."I'll call and ask for approval, blah, blah, blah"....never heard back!)
