Study and know your state laws, make your profile more professional and sign up with the signing companies listed above, also start with message 33325 to learn what to do. No one will give you a list of companies, you have to learn by experience and due dilligence. Good Luck!

Go on Notary Rotary under signing companies and fill out their applications. Also NNA and start filling out applications. Sign on 123Notary.com too.

From the way you are "speaking" to me (if that can be possible since we are typing), you know me off of this board which means you are very fake towards me in person after I have done nothing but bend over backwards to help you. Sounds to me like a bit of jealousy the way you are chasing me around on the board today.

Re: New Agent -- NM...
IMHO, all who post here and remain Anon past a short orientation time are dark and offensive. In 1994 I was stalked and harrassed for weeks by an anonymous person. What the stalker enjoyed and what the Anon posters enjoy are similar. I do not have patience with them.
The stalker enjoyed doing things without an identity or face so that he could annoy me, and to unsettle me. Long story short, he watch me a lot and was very careful to let me know how close I had come to him in a crowd, at the mall, etc. ... what I had worn, what was in my car seat...if I had washed the car...where I dropped off my son that day. He wanted to disturb me as much as possible.
Some of the Anons do similar things...it's always disturbing to me when we have an anon who has researched the archives and starts to "reveal" things there about other posters.
That's part of the Anon game. They want to disturb the board. If they wanted to be part of the community, they would not continue to do things which go against the grain of the majority of the community at large. They'd try to work with the majority to make the reading easier.
Ignoring them does not seem to work. Perhaps letting them know that their secret life of being an invisible forum bully and a psychological menace is not so invisible. It's clear there is a mental / emotional problem going on with them.
It might make them realize if Harry ever decided to convert their anon handles into names, not only would we all know they were jack as***s, we would also know their little psychotic minds were mean and perverse.
They should find another forum. Too many of us here are fairly observant and analytical. We see them for what they are and that's not going to reveal less to us as time goes on, it will show us more about them. We may be able to recognize them and sometimes we can. There is one I have 99% certainly identified. *She* is one of the better writing Anons...has a true appreciation for words, spelling and grammar. Smart lady. Scary isn't it.

Yes, Brenda. It's very creepy, indeed. And the first couple of paragraphs that you just wrote are creepy too.
What's even worse is to figure out who it is and you knowing them off this board, as in knowing it's one of your friends etc etc. Makes you kinda sick to your stomach actually.
One reason why I was so nervous to post everything about my name, address etc at the beginning.
You never know who is really watching you. Meanwhile, you're (collectively) coming on here to have fun, read about notary stuff and non notary stuff and you're being "watched". I just don't understand why Harry doesn't take a little more control over this stuff and I also wish that ip's were posted like everyone says they used to be and not screen names.

NM-CO,
If I were in your shoes, I would request to Harry that he tell you who is harrassing you. Maybe you can send him an email and he can assist you further. I looked through some of your past posts and I don't see where you gave out too much info. for this person to know you well. I saw one post where you gave Teddog and email address. You've been good about staying mysterious...which you shouldn't have to do. My posts are an open book. Don't let these crazy people scare you. It is they who should be scared. What they are doing is illegal.

Oh really? Ok, I'm going to do that now. This has really creeped me out today. Should I just send an email with the original message number or what?
I feel so stupid emailing him over stuff like this, I'm sure he has better things to do but it is weird that this one person has kinda "followed" me around on the board today. Especially since I rarely posting throughout the days, usually just in the mornings.

Re: Report it to Harry. He can immediately see
Even Anons have to log on and they leave a trail behind of every post they write -- it doesn't matter whether they write the posts with their handle, name or Anon, he can trace who it is. Supposedly, that is why everyone now has to login in lieu of how IP addresses used to appear. I'd probably just send it the original message numbers and maybe the threads they are in.

I read your posts and looked back over the day's posts and can't say that I see where you are being stalked or followed around. To be honest it just looks like anon is being anon and you just wanted to get in the game. Sorry, don't mean to sound snippy but go back and see for yourself. Actually, if you take a look, you'll see no one really paid you any special attention until you posted that vacation thread.

Blah, now that I know who it is, I don't care. No harm. There's a lot of anon's to keep up with.................

It would be different if there were only one Anon poster. However, there is more than one and has always been more than one Anon poster, so I quite honestly don't see how you have confirmed *her* identity or can even confirm that it is a *she* or that it is even only ONE poster.

I wish he would hurry up and do something about it. This anonymous crap has really gotten out of control and is turning this board into a complete joke. He needs to just eliminate the anonymous option. Whatever benefit there is to is just isn't worth what it's done to the board.

You've Touched on a Subject...
...I've attempted to address in the past...to no avail. It's my opinion that both the Notary Rotary & GoMobileNotary message boards should have a login process in order to post. Taking it one step further I'd also like to see the message board facilitators connect any board postings to the public profile of the poster. This will eliminate those who "stalk" via the "nom de plume" method. To clarify "nom de plume", that's a regular who posts under an assumed moniker, but still won't reveal their true identity. If someone wants to post anonymously due to some personal inadequacy or are fearful of retribution from a signing company, they can take it off the board to someone they trust. If it bears public discussion after that, the person confided in can bring it to the board on behalf of the individual who feels threatened. If it can't be brought to the level of public trust on the board, I personally don't believe it should be posted at all. JMHO!

Re: You've Touched on a Subject...
Wow, I'm glad that it's just your opinion. This is a message board for crying out loud. It has nothing to do with if someone posts as Bob or Fred when in reality their name is really Sue. This issue of anon isn't about not wanting to reveal one's identity. It's people who are too eager to see another's identity that scare me more than any anonymous poster.

I'm with you Lily
You'd think that this thread would be a shining example of exactly why not everybody in here wants their name, address and phone numbers available for anyone to see. Even if every post you make on this board is completely civil, rational, and on topic, that still doesn't mean some nutjob won't latch onto you and make your life complete hell.
Dennis has always had some bizarre moral superiority thing going on because he chooses to link to his profile. That's fine that he does it, but why he expects the rest of us to, I have no idea. There are plenty of experts out there who would say the complete opposite, that it is idiotic to reveal any more information about yourself online than necessary.
I just don't see that it's necessary for all that information to be revealed with every post I make. To me, the risks (6 billion people in the world who can more easily find my cell phone number and home address) far outweigh the benefits (the chance that I might pick up some extra business from somebody who likes my posts). Not everything has a dollar value attached to it.

Re: I'm with you Lily
Cali, you make a good point. Your point of your post reminds me of the Taylor Behl case. I felt that Ben Fawley "lured" her into "him" but it was also her who posted all of her info blaring right there for everyone to see.
It is so odd that a anon would make comments on my postings they way she did today. Because when I post and most of the time it goes unnoticed or no one cares what I have to say. So, this is how I knew that this person knew me. I was right afterall about who she was.

Now she's being stalked because some anon made a comment about prople thinking she's/he's the using the same moniker as anon?? Whats' up wit dat? Lily says *It's people who are too eager to see another's identity that scare me more than any anonymous poster.*
That's *exactly* why I've quit linking my profile to my name. It was too easy for someone to click it after I made a statement they didn't agree with in order to send me hate e-mails, or simply to see what I looked like.

Just my opinion
Regarding posting under an "assumed moniker." It makes Very good sense to post without everyone in the cyber world knowing every detail about you. Everyday the media and law enforcement try to stress the importance of NOT giving your personal information online. Chat Rooms and Boards like this one could cause you problems I really don't think anyone wants. Male or Female it can happen to anyone. So I suggest that everyone be carefull it's not only children that should fear what's online. We have our profiles that's enough and they should only be viewed by companies. Playing one-upsmenship games using your name for that reason thinking you'll get more business??? Well, that is another subject.
People that are vicious, hurtfull or just plain old "mean sprited" they are what they are. If they hide behind Anon or a moniker to insult or hurt others,I really feel they have a problem - thank God it's their problem.
"The pen is mighter then the sword." We can all agree that there are few folks out there that should "Think" before they type.
Moniker-Anon-Your real name? That's a personal choice. I prefer safety and safety for the people around me.

Advice appreciated? We'll see...
You are posting with your name! Good for you.
You need to start reading this forum and finding out what is already here to tap into.
Go to msg 33325 - read that entire thread.
Since you have not done any preliminary work to plan the business, you do not know how well you can do or if you can even expect a profit. You'll need a business plan and to learn about how to start a business in general. By working through that you will not have to ask others where to find business because a business plan will demand it of you.
