OT: I need a vacation

I have been to Mexico umpteen times, Honduras, Belize. Looking for a place to go for just a few days that is not all that expensive. Where have you been, would you go again and any suggestions on a new place with great feedback would be nice to hear about?

Jamaica is awesome and when I went it was not that expensive at all although that was 2 years ago. Not sure what the prices are now. Left the kids and hubby at home and just hung out with the "girls". We had a blast.

Sounds fun. Doesn't it take forever to get from the airport to the hotels there?

We have plenty of airline miles to book free tickets so we'd just have to pay for the hotel. I read and read and read so many reviews on tripadvisor.com and they are all so up and down it's very hard to pick a place.

Oh if you have the airline miles, then you should get a very good deal on hotel. Most of them are all inclusive. If you go, you HAVE to try the water fall climb. Oh my goodness, that was SO fun! Its one of the reasons I want to go back.

It's not too bad from the airport fo the hotels. You should check it out! It was so much fun and of course we didn't have time to do everything we wanted.

What type of vacation interests you? That may help people give you better suggestions. I prefer adventure.

everyone was talking about for the notrot convention next year? Was there not enough interest? I lost track of any type of convention and I'm not going to D.C.

Charm,
Still looking at a cruise. Around feb 2007. Waiting on a few things, but it's still being thought about...

True Melissa. Somewhere with a beach, cute cabana boys that serve you foo foo drinks and somewhere that I can bring this laptop. Preferrably sooner than later before I have a heart attack. Good question.

Costa Rica sounds good but isn't that place just for surfer type people? I'm into surfing but I have a bad back and would hate to be stuck on a beach just "watching" so I'd rather go where everyone else is just laying there like I would be.

A cruise sounds fun but not sure if I'd want to talk about work the whole time.

Jamaica is looking good, I never even thought of that place before. I'm looking at places there online now.

Hmmm...you're making me rethink the "adventure" type of vacation. LOL!!! Anyway, if you want it to be a quick trip within the US, I am partial towards Catalina Island off of the LA area in CA. I like to scuba dive there, but it has a great beach and real neat stores. Very few cars are on the island and there are lots to see. This past Sept. I went to the Bahamas, and the water there is incredible. Lots of history there as well. Just be careful of those trying to sell you drugs...which also happens in Jamaica. Not sure what the weather is like in these places at this time of year?!?! But that can be looked up. For real good last minute deals, I love skyauction.com. You may just see what they have and chose something they offer and have all figured out for you. Have a nice vacation and let us know what you do and how it was. Smiley

Oh you gotta love Sky Auction!

Last year we went on a cruise to 4 diff ports out of Miami for 1200 including our non stop airfare from Denver. It was for a week on a brand new ship. Ahhhhwwwww, I can just imagine myself on that boat again.......................lol.

Been to Catalina, great place but I'd have to wear a jacket this time of year.

Yes, thinking of husky, young cabana boys serving drinks makes ya think twice eh? lol.

Can we get a life please? I am sorry that your life is so boring. I don't need to read about your young boys serving you. Why don't you ever come up with anything intelligent to offer the community that is notary related at least once in awhile as opposed to your nonsensical poll questions and goofy remarks everyday for attention?

Anon, I have a life that's why I need a vacation. If you "don't need to read about young cabana boys serving me" then don't read it. Simple.

Polls? What polls? About once a week I'm on here all day otherwise I only post in the mornings over coffee so as usual, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Do you see that "OT" posted in the original thread? That means "off topic" meaning it is not notary related so if you don't want to read OT threads, then just don't click on it!

Who cares that you need a vacation? Go on a vacation board and discuss your problems. It wouldn't be so bad to OT once in awhile but you are constantly taking up space with nothing to offer. Get AOL aim or something. Go back over your posts and you'll see that you are just looking for feedback over silly poll questions. Quit trying so hard to fit in, it only shows your low self esteem.

NM_CO,

I enjoy the OT remarks as much as everything else on this site. That's why I stick around. It was nice of you to at least acknowledge and answer the anon post. I don't bother. ;)
