Re: Signing Star (and payments)
Hi all,
Anybody have any good news to share? Or I guess any news?
And also anyone have Lynda Doye's email address and phone number? I guess that would be helpful. By way of background, I did a RESPA signing for them towards the end of October. I called someone within the organization several days ago, but no one answered the phone nor were my phone messages returned. Thanks much.

Re: Signing Star (and payments)
If you are having trouble geting paid there's an easy remedy. First, use the info that you were given to identify where the co. does business. Then go to the BBB site in that city & state. That will give you their address if you don't already have it. Then write them a demand letter & send it return receipt.
Here's a sample/ reword it as it applies to your situation: I did a second notorial signing for _____on 8/12/05 in Malin, Oregon.
The first signing I did for you & the Borrower's name was on 7/8/05. You paid me for the first signing when I refused to do your second signing unless you paid me from the first one. Your client requested my services. So you sent me a check the next day.
Now I’d really appreciate payment from the second signing on 8/12/05. That was over 2 months ago. If I don't hear from you by__this date & receive payment within 5 business days after receipt of this notice, then you force me to contact the BBB of your city & state, the Dept. of Consumer Affairs; Fraud Division{* note to Notary...it is fraud if they promise to pay for your services & don't}, Secretary of State; Dept. of Corporations { this is how they get their license} If you need any further information to expedite your Outstanding Balance owed to me of $ 85.00 please contact me at __your phone number ASAP Thank you & looking forward to your call.
***Remember good news travels fast but Bad news travels Faster!***
You might also threaten to contact the co. that is funding the borrower if you are working as a third party service Contractor.
Make sure you follow thru & contact these agencies within that 5 day period. So when & If they contact you after that time period you tell them you'll re-contact these agencies after you receive payment. If their check bounces then you can sue in small claims court in your city & state; them & win.............chances are they will not show up cause it will cost them more to show up then to pay you then contact the District attorney in their county & State to collect on their check & file charges.
Hope this helps................. Yvette
Sincerely,

Re: Signing Star (and payments)
I came across this and have to share what just happened to me today. I'm not going to bother with the BBB because it's been so long. Plus, I don't want to spend any money on such a paltry amount owed, which in itself is so pathetic on the part of the agency. Anyway, here's what happened. Judge for yourself whether or not you want to take the chance to receive work for this company. After today, I've made my decision. Here goes:
I was given an assignment by Signing Star back in May or June of this year to print documents, take them to the borrower, have them fill them out, then I would mail the doc's back to the lender to begin the loan process. However, the borrower decided he did not want to take the time to fill out the documents at that time, but he would do it later. So, per the lender, I left the documents. Okay. Fine. I then contacted the person who had originally contacted me at Signing Star and told him I would not be sending any doc's back for this reason. I was still supposed to be paid a paltry $30 for at least my travel time and doc printing. I waited until August; then contacted the person, asking when I would be paid for the assignment. I was informed he no longer worked there, but he gave me a contact number and a person's name to call. So I called the person and left a message. Never heard back from them. Today - 12-09-05 - I got a call from someone at Signing Star, asking if I would be available to do a signing in my area. I told them, no, I would not be available, because I've now been owed a measly $30 for the last six months. She apologized profusely and gave me an email to give her further details so that the matter could be rectified. So I found the emails I'd received from the previous contact and TRIED to forward it to her. Guess what? The email got returned to me, UNDELIVERABLE. So I tried going to their website. Of course, there is no information available as to how you can contact them, unless you are able to somehow log in. I even went back and called the number I was given back in August, but it definitely does not sound like the voicemail message of a business. I forgot to mention this point. Even though I was called on my cell phone, I could not call the person back on that number because it showed as "private caller id," or something to that effect.
Once again, judge for yourself what you'll do if they call you.
