The notary biz - low fee
I was offered $ 135.00 for a 1st and 2nd loan, last minute signing, local area. I was never offered so little for a double loan, no even from the cheapest signing companies in the market. With all the requirements we have to meet to carry a license, plus the regular expenses to perform the job, I kind of felt insulted and unappreciated. They are very pleasant to work with but their fees are definitely not reasonable.

Hmmm. This wouldn't happen to have been last evening for a 7:00 pm on Germantown, would it? If so, they called me for the same signing and weren't interested in paying my fee. Likewise I wasn't interested in theirs and had to chuckle at the price.
Soooo... Did you take it?

yes Mitch, it was the same signing. Did I accept it ?... Absolutetly not, it's not worth my time and effort. I hope nobody in our area did for that price.

Was that with edocs? If not, that doesn't sound like an unreasonable fee to me (depending on the distance of course). But I'm guessing if it was last minute it was edocs, in which case that is pretty cheap. But that's no surprise, the notary biz is a cheapo $50 company.

They called me last night for an e-doc signing for today. When I asked how much they were willing to pay, I was told $75. I almost hung up without saying anything, but being the polite Southern Gentleman, that I am, I told them they would have to try to find someone else that I wouldn't touch it for less than $150...they not being quite as polite as I, immediately hung up!
