Unbelievable!

Just had a SS call, wanted to know if I went to Monte Vista. I said yes, asked if I was available to go on the 7th, yes. Okay, "we will pay $50 for this incl edocs. NO WAY! I explained that Monte Vista was a 153 mile drive- one way, also told him that I did not even start to go over there for under $225.00 for overnight docs, which I thought was cheap. He said there was no way they would pay even close to that. I said fine, find someone else.
The thing that got me was that he thought 50 would be plenty to pay for a 300+mile trip! LOL!
Are they getting dumber or what?

I bet you don't know...

That Allen Funt got sued in civil court recently for posing as airport security and making a guy get on the x-ray belt thru the machine. When the guy came out he ripped up his thigh getting off the conveyor belt. The 'victim' walked away with big time cash.
Although I always loved that show, sometimes, they just don't think of the poor victim!

Re: I bet you don't know...

yeah, I'm addicted to court tv....OT: so glad the that Joe Smith got the death penalty for the child abduction, rape and murder in Sarasota FL. I'm sure that town is buzzing this morning.
In fat I'm counting my addictions in between running around the house with my 3 year old! I'm already stressing about being at Chuckie Cheese's all day Sunday for her Birthday party. GO BEARS!

I will definitely pray for you. Because I know how it feels. Pray for me too. I don't remember my others being this active. Or maybe I am just getting to old.

Re: I bet you don't know...

You might want to check out TIVO. They have some excellent deals right now. It might relieve some of the stress. With TIVO (or some other recorder) you could record the game, get to Chuckie Cheeses, have a great time and then crash in the evening with the game and a tall cool one. The time just slips way so fast and the kids gorw up before we realize it. Good luck!

Charm.............

I didn't hear about that one!
I love Court TV! It's always on in the background while i'm working!
These childhood years were made to drive a parent crazy at times! LOL
But looking back, seems like just yesterday my 18 yr old was that age! If I "survived" going through it 4 times, anybody can! LOL
On the other hand, what I wouldn't give at times to step back into those years!

Re: Charm.............

Charm, just stress to the adults there to keep thier guard up. When my niece was younger she had a birthday party at Chuckie Cheese' and my mother in law saw a lady walk up to one of the preschoolers, pick her up, and sway around with her saying something like "oh my little girl". Then the girls real parents jumped up and confronted the lady. She put the child down and was able to run out the door and get away. Every time we've gone to a place like that you can tell who is actually watching thier kids and not putting the 9 year old in charge of the 4 year old.

Re: Charm.............

Thanks Sarah, by the way that's my daughter's name. I do try to keep 3 eyes on her at all times, she is a real head turner with blue eyes and long blond curly hair, as were the two older girls. Everyone makes a comment if they are within earshot. Scary!
