Update to my Back Dating Vent...

After my reply that I would be forwarding the info to the SOS, I get a phone call from the attorney's office again.

They apologize over and over again stating that they were swamped with signings and weren't thinking clearly. They said that they were wrong to ask me to back date, and apologize again. Then they requested I perform the loan signing with the actual signing date... and promise me all their signings within my local area!

Hmmm? Any opinions?

Sounds like you'll be accepting hush money. Can you say "bribery"? You really got them in a jam. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft. pole.

Take a stand for integrity...

Bribery, pure and simple; iif you accept it you reduce yourself to their level.

They are only sweating because they got caught (it really WAS stupid to put it in writing). Do the right thing - contribute to the integrity we are supposed to uphold and turn them in. Maybe then they won't do it again and word will get around that notary ethics are not for sale.
