I am a notary and I just had someone come to my house and do a closing and referred me to this site. Do you have to become a member to get work? With me being just a notary can I sign? What does it mean by mobile notary? I will travel. Please help me? Thank you

No, you do not have to become a member. It is a good idea though to purchase the membership because premier members' profiles are seen before basic profiles. This site is a helpful marketing source for title companies, signing services and mortgage lenders locating your services.
Yes, mobile notary means you would travel. Therefore, you need to decide what county or counties you will service. In addition, you need to find out if your area already has a number of signing agents to see if these would be a feasible career move (i.e. best to start off part-time). Also, if you are not familiar with the real estate/mortgage industry - you should become familiar with the terminology and look into taking a course or obtaining the Signing Registry Manual.

This is not a straight 9-5 job; you must be flexible, have the appropriate equipment since most documents come via e-mail, therefore, laser printer, fax, DSL, cell phone, portable copier, totally mobile services are all things you need to factor in when starting - you should also use the search feature and review message #33325 which isvery helpful.

I would also be willing to help - I am fairly new to the mobile part but I have learned a lot through the different sites and would be happy to share info with you.
