Opinions please I now have comcast ( cable ) I have had it for 1 1/2 years no problems and is fast. However I would like not to pay so much I pay $45.00 in my opinion this is to much,I had a deal with them where I only payed 1/2 that now that is up and i am paying the regular fee.
What do you have and is it fast enough to download and print your docs as mine is 90% e-docs.
Another question do you use yahoo e-mail for your docs?
Thanks a bunch

Have you tried SBC? I recently re-newed with SBC and I pay $14.95 per month one year and after that it's $19.95 per month. It's pretty fast and I've never had a problem.

Depending on where you live you might want to check Verizon.
I have comcast because I am too far from the phone company office and cannot get a DSL line.
I found Comcast to be OK except when you need service, forget it.
I had a problem called them up and after going through 20 button and all kind of switch-a-roos I was tolds a man teck will be out in 3 (three) days. Explained that this is a business and cannot afford to be down for 3-days. They don't care
BTW my Comcast broadbans is $95.00 a month, think I should get better service?
I am looking for the day when I can get a DSL line and tell Comcast to kiss my you know what

Agree with Joe_PA...I have Verizon DSL...pay $14.95/month for 768bps and can also use the same phone line for talking while on the net. Have never had an outage.

Re: Della

I have SBC DSL, which is alot faster then dial up services. I have used this for about five years now. It started out at $19.95 a month, and kept going up every year. When it was close to the renewal period this year I was up to $49.95 a month. I called them and was informed it was going to be increased to $59.95. They were having alot of advertisments to get new customers for $29.95, so I asked them why they could not offer a better deal to their long time customers. They lowered it to $24.95 a month for one year, at which time I can call back and request that the rate stay the same, or close to it. If you don't want to change try to nego. with your current company first, if that dosen't work shop around for a new service, and inform them that you will be doing that. I use Yahoo mail through sbcglobal.net. Hope this helps you.

Re: Della

thank you Brenda, I have SBC at $49.95 per month and I will try exactly what you did, you
are right, why should the new people get the discount and not the long term customers.

Getting discounts from Comcast

Upon obtaining a valid offer from a Comcast competitor, try calling Comcast's "Retention Dept" and telling them about the other offer, and asking them "so - here's where you tell me WHY I should remain with Comcast instead of going to (competitor)?"

I've had the competitor's fee honored by Comcast more than once.
