Executive Closings

I have seen some earlier posts saying to stay away from this company. Well I know I am because I first got a call today around 2 pm from a gentleman who asked if I would be available tommorow at 2, well I told him I would not be. About an hour later I got a call from a women at executive closings asking me to do the same signing, I told her this was the second call and no I am not available. This is not the end, I just got a THIRD call from them!! about this signing at 2. Do they think if they keep bugging me I will finally give in or what?

I think you are probably the only one that hasn't heard of their reputation and advised them of this. So they are hoping that maybe your appointment will cancel and if they call in time they can get you to do that one for them....

VA N,

Heh, who know's; maybe they are just trying to wear you down. I think I would be more specific as to why you don't want to accept their signing (rather than just saying you are busy).

Well, I did tell them I had another signing, I just didn't post it up here. Really it is none of their business.

I think Ted's point was that if you were refusing to work for them because of their reputation, you should tell them that THEY'RE the reason you can't do the signing. If enough notaries tell them that they suck to the point that we don't want to work for them, it's possible that they might get the message eventually.

Va Notary; keep saying no until your tongue bleeds if necessary. They still owe me for one
in May, 2004. They do not respond to invoices, phone calls or faxes. They also called me 3
times ( different people each time, if I recall accurately) before I said ok. Could be that this is their modus operandi, ie TAKE one notary at a time and then ignore any attempt by said
notary to be paid. There are a lot of notaries out there to prey on! I wish you well.

HAD to write. I JUST dealt with them today. First closing I did with them...no problem...paid on time and everything. Today I had the president call me because I had sent 2 invoices, 2 faxes for a signing in Dec. and sent an email to the accounting dept telling them if I do not receive a call today telling me when my check would be over-nighted that I would be posting on all notary boards and that wouldn't help their business much. GOT that call and gave me the tracking number for my check which should arrive tomorrow. Wont do another for them but once I threw that out there, they jumped I guess. Maybe they can't afford any more bad publicity. Smiley

I guess I was lucky. I did about 5 or 6 closings for them over a period of about 4 months. I got paid on all of them, but I had to call them on every single check before it was sent. The last time I called I told them how ridiculous it was that I had to contact them every time just to get paid and told them to take me out of their database. I still got another 2 or 3 calls from them after that, just told them no, told them why, and told them again to take me out of their database. They finally did.

You Stated - "if I do not receive a call today telling me when my check would be over-nighted that I would be posting on all notary boards and that wouldn't help their business much. GOT that call and gave me the tracking number for my check which should arrive tomorrow"

I know they have a bad reputation and it took a while for you to get paid. I've worked for them once and have a very hard time getting paid myself. But, they did as you asked and overighted the check rather than face the threat of posting on the boards. And now you post anyways?

I know I'm going to get slammed for this and I hesitate to put it out there......We complain and B#$@h about signing companies stiffing us, paying us late, being unprofessional, etc. But I don't see how not keeping our word makes us any better or any more professional than them. There just can't be that much satisfaction in making them "jump" and then slamming them on the boards anyways.

I've tried to be as gentle as possible, but now I'm going to get it. :-)

Joan, I felt the same way you do when I read their post. I feel if you made a deal with the devil then so be it!

Well Joan...they can say anything til I get the check. The tracking number still hasn't come up in the system with UPS...HOW"S THAT? I think when it does I"LL LET YA KNOW! Kinda like the check is in the mail. OH I'll post if I do get it but I'm not holding my breath and that was the point of the posting. I can state what has happened to me....I didn't say DON"T DO BUSINESS with them...JUST, this is what I did to get a response. SO, speak up whenever you like, but no deals with devils on this end!

But the fact remains that you told them if they didn't call you with a tracking number & when it was going to be sent out, you were going to post. I just feel it would have been better and truer to your word to wait & see if the overnight package came today. If it doesn't, I wouldn't blame you if you posted away. I might be inclinded to do the same thing. The problem I had is ou told them you were going to post, IF you didn't receive a tracking number and check, but didn't wait to see if that happened.

I won't work for them either. Not because I don't like them - they are very nice people. I just don't like chasing down my money, so I can understand you being irritated. But if we aren't as good as our word, aren't we really lowering ourselves to their level?

No hard feelings I hope. :-)

Oh Joan...and another thing....IF they hold true to their word and get it out, it might not be that I wouldn't do business with them again....but it would be that their price would change...for the "presumed" extra time it might take me to get paid. But it could turn out to be the only time they did that to me the I'd take their business...."First time, shame on them...second time it would be shame on me" But I tend to give people a second chance...just NEVER a third.

Hang up on 'em

You are nicer than me. Whenever they call, I just say "Never!" and hang up.

I am not giving them even 60 seconds of my cell phone time.
