Late Docs
I just waited all day for the edocs that finally was sent to me at 6:00 PM for a 7:00 PM signing. I rushed and printed two sets of docs, 125 pages each, called the borrower only to be told that he was not going to sign them because the lender lied to him concerning the interest rate. This is the first time this has happened to me. How much should I be paid for printing the docs? TIA

I charge a flat fee for the closing and an additional $25-30 for the edocs on top of the closing fee. I would charge them my edoc fee if the closing canceled.

Let me make you feel better WWCALF, I printed 2 sets of documents, 131 pages each, borrowers didn't sign because of fixed rate issues. New docs were sent, I printed another 2 sets of 131 pages of docs, guess what, borrowers didn't sign again. Now I have 524 pages of wothless docs and my freakin shredder just went KAPUT. hahahahahahahahaha

PAW posted a company called ship and shred, do a search and you should find it. I thought it was a great idea.
I printed three sets of docs for one of my brokers that does a lot of investment property. I printed docs, drove 35 miles and the borrower said no. This was the first time in five months that I had a problem with one of his loans. This broker is the best I have ever worked with. I was shocked. Instead of billing my full fee, as I usually do, I billed the Title Co for three sets of edocs and only one trip fee. I made $250 for my trouble and the broker called the next day to tell me he was sending a memo to the Title Co that I was the only Notary he would use in the four counties that I work.

Does he need anyone in four counties where you don't work? ;-)

Pessimist
It was for a company who pays me every 2 weeks and I never worry about not getting paid for them.
