Hi Becca. I am in Wisconsin also. Stevens Point. I looked for a mentor, and had no luck. This seems to be a new concept for the most part in Wisconsin. I even emailed a couple of people directly with a nice request and it didnt work. Im probably too far away for you, and Ive only done one closing so far, but I would like to network with someone, because I have questions now and then needing advice or opinions on the Wisconsin Notary Laws and such. Most of them I figuere out on my own. Questions for you: How far have you gotten for being ready for this kind of work? Did you join the NNA, or did you just apply for your commission? If you would like to get a hold of me, you can email me at [e-mail address] and we will go from there. Have a good day. Lisa

Anyone looking for a mentor may wish to consider joining the Signing Registry. A benefit of the membership is free mentoring by an experienced and certified signing agent. Though they may not be from your local area, they can provide you with the necessary assistance in the signing agent aspect.
They also have an "closed" message forum that allows for more candid discussions of some topics that posters do not wish to air in public. This is not to take away from the NotRot forum here, as most Registry members read and post to both.
For more information, go to http://www.signingregistry.info and follow the appropriate links.
