I've only done a few closings. Here is the reason to ask your opinions: Is "industry standard" blue ink or is it blank it? I took black ink to the closing table on one assignment and was made to go back and redo it in blue ink (one of the co-borrowers only).

It depends on what your state requirements are and what your closing instructions included with the documents state. Some require blue only, others black. I have had some with blue for borrowers and black for Notary.

It is helpful if you put your state abreviation behind your name so we know what state your in, then another notary from your state who knows the correct answer can reply to your question.

Usually in your closing instructions it will specify which color ink, Blue or Black. If not stated follow your state rules. I am in FL and always use blue ink if not stated otherwise. BK/FL

Thanks. I am in Florida too (don't know how to add that to my screen name). I will use blue in the future, unless "told" otherwise.

Thank you.
