Part Time Work - as Notary Signing Agent

Hi
I am interested to work as a Notary Signing agent in evenings and weekends. Is it possible ??
Do people prefer to close deals in evenings and weekends - or this work is primarily conducted during normal business hours of 9 to 5. What are the chances that laon closings are done in the evening or weekends - and are there any companies willing to give work to people like me - who can only come for closings inthe evenings and weekends.
ANY SUGGESTIONS MOST WELCOME

I have a small siging company based in Los Angeles County
There are signers who work for me only weekends, some only during the day and some only in the evenings.

I have a question about your small signing company. How did you get started with other Notaries Public and what do you have to do as far as ss are concerned?

Thank you

Please do two things: 1) Read, AND TAKE THE TIME TO FULLY COMPREHEND, your state’s manual for notaries public; then 2) come back to this board. Above the menu of posts, click the "First" button. Go all the way to the very first post in June 2003, "Welcome to the General Discussion Forum." Read all the way to the last post today. You will find your answer many times over in the intervening messages, along with far better information about being a signing agent than you’ll ever get from any certification course. I realize that much of what you will read will be duplicative, and some will be totally irrelevant. But, in sum, reading the archives of this board will almost surely be the most informative thing you will ever do to assist you in being a signing agent. You also would be well advised to pursue any Internet sites that posters have indicated might be helpful in furthering your knowledge.

If, after doing both of the above, your question remains unanswered, then come back and post your question on the board. You will probably find that you will get more and more helpful responses if you post under an identifiable handle and include a state designation in that handle.

Good luck in preparing for a fulfilling career as a mobile notary/signing agent.

Always include your state abbreviation in the "Author" field when you post. It will help you get answers that apply to your state. Posting your area within the state would also help.

You should get regular (i.e., non-loan) notary experience before considering becoming a NSA. Also, are you aware that you would be competing with those NSAs who do this work in order to earn their entire living?

Many borrowers can only meet after their work schedules so it is very possible. Of course you will get senior citizens and retirees that are available at any time or open times and you can work them around your schedule. Another area to make money in is working for companies that ask you to do drive by appraisals. Invest in a digital camera and take a drive in the afternoon, your lunchbreak when lighting is good and take pictures of the front, sides, down the street on either sides and email them back to the companies. Very easy money and only takes 5 minutes of your time, depending on how far you have to go of course. Good Luck.

Where can I look for work doing drive-by appraisals? What do they pay? Who would I market to? TIA
