Aren't all Dells Inkjets?????????????????????????????????
and therefore useless. Drop a eyedropper full of water on a inkjet doc and behold. Not to mention the outrageous cost and lack of PCL Drivers. JMHO

I have the Dell 1500 and it works great. It was the third one I bought and the only model compatible with my Dell computer. (Even a Hewlett Packard wouldn't work!)

Re: Aren't all Dells Inkjets????????????????????????????????
Not all Dells are inkjets. Dells do carry laser printers as well, including laser printers that are all in one for less than $400. Just go to Dell and type laser printers in their search engine and that should direct you to them. You can also get other types of laser printers through Dell, such as a brother, etc. Hope that helps.
P.S. I think that laser printers were the choice printers because of the fact that they were faster. However, a lot of injets have gotten just as fast over the years.

The 1700 is a laser jet.

Re: Aren't all Dells Inkjets?????????????????????????????????
No - I have a Dell 1700 LASER. It works -okay-. It prints fast, but I have had a problem with it not recognizing some of the loan package fonts. It then just gives me an error message. Luckily I have an HP Officejet that I've used in emergencies to print those few pages that the Dell won't print.
Right now I'm researching for another printer with a dual tray (currently I print all the docs on legal), if anyone has any suggestions, please post! Thanks!

Isn't the Officejet a Iinkjet?????????
How can you rationalize printing loan docs on a machine that produces product which the industry considers not acceptable. I am not criticizing, just curious how you justify this????

Re: Isn't the Officejet a Iinkjet?????????
Yes, it is. This is when we're at the "umpteenth hour" and I've just learned that a few of the docs won't print correctly. I then have gotten approval from the Title Company/Signing Service to print out. It's only happened twice, but that's enough for me to start searching for a new printer.

HP 1320 TN. This is a dual tray Laser with PCL6. A bit expensive but it works great. I had a problem with the 2nd tray when it was first delivered but it only took about 15 min. on the phone with HP support, including waiting time, and they shipped a replacement overnight.
I've not had any problems since although it's only been about 3 months.

Thanks!
I'm going shopping this weekend, so I'll keep this one in mind. I also need to purchase a new fax machine. Yikes....it's going to be an EXPENSIVE weekend!

Re: Thanks!
Victoria, I have the HP 3030 laser...it prints, scans, copies and faxes. Total was $498 about 3 months ago. Works like a top...no problems.

I also have the 1700 with the dual tray and maxed out memory. I have had no problems with printing docs at all.
