Several times I've received confirmations with only the home phone #. Call and get no answer or just an answering machine. The answering machine says " you have reached ..... please leave a message"

In the last year probably 8-10 times the # was wrong !!. In these type cases where the answering machine doesn't state a name, I use anywho.com to check for home phone #s.

In all cases, there was an error on the confirmation order either mistyped or 2 numbers reversed .

I have that happen alot too, Art. Sometimes the number is wrong on the application or do not return my call if I do leave a message.
I have found numbers on anywho.com that switchboard.com would tell me there is no listing for that name.

I've also had problems where the SS gives me the wrong phone #. You can also look on the Uniform Loan Application in the loan docs. It is usually listed on the first page. If it's not there, I also check the internet.
