200 mile trip

I was asked this morning by a law office if I could travel a bit over 200 miles to get a Power of Attorney signed and I will be paid generously. Does this seem strange to anyone? Especially since I will be traveling to LA and I know there are a zillion notaries over there. Can I get any suggestions as to what I should charge?

Are you an LA notary? Can you legally do this?

In Ca notaries have statewide jurisdiction. LA is short for Los Angeles and would be approx 100 miles from San Diego, depending on the actual locations.

Is the Lawyer's firm located in San Diego? They're probably just more comfortable dealing with someone local.
