24/7

I go to the Notary board and read those posts as well...
heated arguement long story - short...

doesn't advertising 24/7 mean that you are offering 24 hour seven days a week service as a Notary Public/Signing Agent? Am I missing something here???

there's a woman from Michigan (Dorothy) that is under the opinion that she needs to and will continue to advertise this way in her Company Title in order for Signing and Title companies to think she does this full time and not for "pin money or vacation money". Yet she is insulted and belligerent when she got a call at 2:30 am. She defended herself originally by saying well, I will work other than "tradional working hours, by appointment" She even expected the caller to apologize for waking her up! What's up wit dat?!? Am I missing something here?

Charm, I also read the posts in gmn. As far as I am concerned, 24/7 means just that 24/7.
I am ready to go if it's 9:00pm or 3:00am.

This is now a dead horse. Can we please stop beating it?

Joe...Who are you to say this is a dead horse after one response?
I am looking for some answers here as to what that really means to people as I advertise 24/7 ! I want to know if others are also available 24/7 and notorize accordingly if needed.
I want to know the the general consensus is.

This is a dead horse because if you look below there is quite a long thread, from just a few days ago, addressing the issue with some folks being dang right nasty. I agree 24/7 means just that, and it has been debated in the previous thread why start a new tread 3 days latter about the same topic?

Joe

I apologize for missing the thread from three days ago. I didn't see it, although I thought I followed this board pretty closely.
I don't like beating a dead horse either and I'll end it with this comment.

Professional signing agents need to be aware of what they promise in their advertisements, I advertise 24/7 and will not get indignant if my phone rings in the middle of the night

Re: Joe

I don't recall seeing it discussed on this board either. He must be thinking of the board you originally saw it on because I don't think it was discussed here.

I'm with you, if you're going to advertise yourself as 24/7 then you need to be prepared to do business 24/7. I think it's safe to say that notary calls in the middle of the night are going to be pretty darn infrequent.

Re: Joe

Except when you're on the east coast and a California based company is looking for someone at the end of the month for an "emergency" signing. I've had a couple of calls like that. Of course, when I tell them that there isn't enough time left in the day to get it done, they simply reply, "It's only 8 o'clock here! Just use Pacific time."
