Do NOT Date Stamp

Received edoc with instructions for signing. In large bold prints, it says "DO NOT DATE STAMP!!" IF DOCUMENTS ARE DATE STAMPED, LOAN WILL HAVE TO RECLOSE AND YOU WILL NOT BE PAID". This is a Chase PA loan.

Has anyone had to deal with this before? Does anyone know what this mean?

Some notaries (and borrowers) have been known to use date stamps on all the documents where a date is required after the signature. This is a no-no. If the date isn't pre-typed on the document, the signer needs to write it, in their own handwriting/printing.

PHEW!!! I thought I've been asked not to date the docs! Thanks.
