First Southwestern Title Company of America
Does anyone have the FedEx or UPS number for First Southwestern Title Company of America, Escrow Division, in West Orangewood, Orange, CA? I have a package to send out today but they didn't give me that number. I don't know whether I should use my number and then bill them later or wait to hear from them or the signing company on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday). I don't want the borrower's loan to be delayed because of this. The job was given to me by Universal Document Express (UDX). Please respond or email me at [e-mail address]. Thanks.

On the FEDEX US Airbill Just check the block under item number 7 that says BILL RECIPIENT and send it. I am sure UPS has a block like that also. They will bill or collect from the Recipent. I do it all the time. Don't you pay.

When you do that "Bill Recipient" may I suggest you put address of Title company as Both Sender and Recipient-- Don't put your name on the package outside at all-- and Bring to UPS Store or Fed Ex- You may not wish to have it Picked up at your house- or that will be Logged and IF-- Big IF-- for some reason Bill is not Paid by Repient-- they may try to charge you..
UPS Billed me for a return Pkg.- Told them the Account was on the Slip- to be charged- not to me the sender, so they did correct it--Now when I return Pkg.'s- The same name goes top and Bottom on Shipping Label-- Theirs and Theirs., whether I have their account Number or not- my name is no-where on the outside.
Hope this helps---!

I brought the package to a nearby Kinko's. They would not accept it without a FedEx#. They suggested to use C.O.D. (I pay, then FedEx delivers and collects payment from recipient, then FedEx sends me payment). However, you need an acct number for this. I didn't have my acct number with me. I called FedEx by phone and they couldn't retrieve my number. Ugh! I should have just dropped it in the box and left. I charged it to my credit card. I sent an email to the escrow officer and attached a copy of the receipt. Will let you know if I get paid. Thanks for your responses.

This is exactly why I will not drop to a UPS Store or Kinkos unless I drop it on the counter & run. If I don't have an account number, the title company goes in as the sender and receiver. That way, there is no doubt they will get billed. The stores won't let you do it and the last time I dropped it in the box like that, little gremlins didn't chase me down the street trying to get me to add an account number. :-)
