Reason for aerial views: I use them all the time, but from the tax appraiser's web site. It is especially handy in new subdivisions where the roads aren't on maps yet. Also, it is pinpoint accurate so you know, for example, that the house is the fifth one on the left from the intersection.
Mapquest: Is so out of date, at least here, that it is almost worthless. They only update their maps every 6 months (so I've been told).
Yahoo: Is often out of date, but, in my experience, much more accurate than mapquest with properties that are newer than 2 years old.
I use DeLorme Street Atlas for directions and then the appraiser's maps for the last 50 feet.
