Helpful driving aid

I found a site that is helpful for locating addresses etc. There is a disclaimer that it is only to be used for personal usage. www.keyhole.com for $29.95 per year gives you an aerial view of the address you are searching for and shows you the surrounding areas.

It is really cool!!
Check it out: they have a free 7 day trial and it is owned by Google.

How does having an aerial view help us find addresses? And what does it do that Mapquest doesn't do for free?

I agree, what good is an aerial view. I agree also that mapquest is by far the best I've found yet. Yahoo lead me astray a couple of times, mapquest has been right on the money.

Reason for aerial views: I use them all the time, but from the tax appraiser's web site. It is especially handy in new subdivisions where the roads aren't on maps yet. Also, it is pinpoint accurate so you know, for example, that the house is the fifth one on the left from the intersection.

Mapquest: Is so out of date, at least here, that it is almost worthless. They only update their maps every 6 months (so I've been told).

Yahoo: Is often out of date, but, in my experience, much more accurate than mapquest with properties that are newer than 2 years old.

I use DeLorme Street Atlas for directions and then the appraiser's maps for the last 50 feet.

Keyhole

The reason I use Keyhole (and have a paid subscription to it) is because I have trouble remembering landmarks. I find it helps me to learn the area rather than just go to a destination.

Since I can look at the terrain, it helps.
