Keep Away List
Does anyone have the latest list of companies NOT to work for?
I'd sure appreciate it as I am looking around for new clients and having been burnt in the past, I am not looking forward to being burnt in the future. Thanks.

Regarding A-1 Signing Services in Minnesota, I have had 10 signings with them since the first of December and have been paid for about half of them. Most jobs were in the last week and half of the month. Give them another try. They have been very helpful to me.

Re: Keep in mind...
There is no definitive "no-no" list. One person's trash company is often treasure for someone else. There are dozens of reasons why any SA might have a negative experience with a given company, and sometimes it's because the SA didn't follow established invoicing or other procedures. By reading the boards, you'll glean knowledge about the companies that are repeatedly mentioned negatively, such as Sign on the X, Assured/Alden, Thomas Sirianni, etc, but other than that it's difficult to group them together. The best "no-no" list is the one you compile for yourself on the basis of your own experience. Most SS are reputable, so you can usually take a chance on an unfamiliar company and still be OK; just establish the payment ground rules up front and ensure you have a fee confirmation in writing.

Re: Keep in mind...
Roger, Almost exactly as I would have typed it. In addition to what you have said, I'd like to add to not continue doing signings for a company if they haven't paid you. Its hard for me to understand why someone will continue accepting signings from a company who hasn't paid for the previous 4-6-8 or even more signings.

OH BOY DO I HAVE A COMPANY FOR YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM PACIFIC DOCUMENT SIGNING OUT OF LOS ANGLES. I DID A CLOSING FOR THEM MIND YOU FOR ONLY $50.0O DOLLARS BECAUSE IT WAS RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOME. ON SEPTEMBER 25TH 2004 AND JUST RECEVIED PAYMENT THIS WEEK FOR IT, I CALLED THEM SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND BY THEM THEY EVEN HAD THE NERVE TO LIE TO ME TWICE AND SAY THAT THEY MAILED IT OUT WHEN THEY NEVER HAD.

Pacific Document Signing Service is a pain in the butt! Not only do they pay slow... But for a $50.00 fee you get to have your borrowers sign and intail over a hundered pages (for a Di-Tech Loans). Then you have to Notarize over 20 pages, fax back 35 pages to the signing service and wait for approval before shipping out the Docs. Never mind the fact that you have other signings to handle and packages to drop! It is a rip off!
