Laser Fax Question

Hello again, all! Thank you for your insight. now i have another question or two for you. We are looking for a stand alone Laser Fax machine because we hear that one is needed to print out certain documents. But if we have an inkjet fax machine could we simply copy them on our Laser priner? Or would that be unacceptable to some companies? Also, having a difficult time finding a stand alone Laser Fax machine. HP does not appear to sell any. We are currently looking at purchasing the HP 1320 or 1320 tn Laser Printer so any help regarding the suggestions of laser faxes would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,Dan

I have a Ink Jet Sharp UX B700 Fax- Works okay-- But with companies sending down 27 pages- Legal-- or 21 or 17 etc etc- within a week or so- Bingo another $29 Cartridge goes in:

Yes, I re-copy those on the Laser Printer- use the Laser copies for Signing- give the ink ones to Borrower as their Copies- as when loan is Funded, they supposedly get a set of Executed Docs.

Haven't begun to try refilling the Ink Jet Cartridges yet- however some folks have-- I do fill the Laser Printer Cartridges-

So far, I make do with what equipment I have- when they have to be replaced, figure then I can re-evalute the overall scenerio, and go from there.

Hope this helps you some. Just my perspective, that works for me.

Brother makes several models of stand alone fax machines. Go to www.brothermall.com and you can look at the different models and features to determine which one might work for you.

HP makes a whole bunch of different laser printers with fax. They are called MultiFunctional Printers or MFPs. Start here:

You will need a fax machine to fax back documents. But as far as receiving docs, get Maxemail at www.maxemail.com for $14.95/year with a $10 set up charge. Your faxes will be sent to you in a pdf and you can just print them up on your laser printer. You can use your inkjet to send faxes or purchase a cheap fax machine specifically for sending.

I have heard from many that the HP 1300 series is a great printer for this business, especially with the dual tray. I purchased my HP 4200 dual tray 35 page per minute new off ebay for under $800. I don't know if I would start off with such an expense. I purchased mine after 18 months full time and had become very profitable.

Good luck.

I can say the the 1300 with dual trays works great. And yes, having an e-fax # is a great way to resolve your issue. I use MaxEmail for $8.95 a month and I think the set-up was $19.95 or something.
Good luck to you!

He called our office a few months ago and did a job for him. We found out the same information about him that day.

He did pay us within 30 days.

I have a fax machine however, I usually just use that for sending faxes. I have Winfax Pro on my computer and it is set up to receive automatically so I can print the docs on my laser.

I use my laser to print borrowers copy but I switch the quality print to "economy" to save toner. I find refilling ink jet printers a pain. Often times it leaks and you'll spend a lot of time cleaning. Not the case with laser toner refills.

For the first year I was in business, I used the Brother MFC 4800. It is an excellent laser printer/fax; however, I do over 80% of my business via e-docs so I switched to a Cannon printer. Both accept legal size paper.

send2fax.com---great service-7.95 a month, no set up

I use a fax machine to send out but all my incoming faxes go straight to email with the send2fax service. I like it as I can be anywhere and get that last minute HUD. There is no set up fee. I use the 7.95/monthly package and the higest my bill has been is 20.00. That was for a great deal of faxes. All faxes are automatically converted to PDF and I have never found a place where I couldn't print them. Incoming to a machine is old school and more expensive in the long run. I know send2fax has a 11.95 service too that covers more faxes a month but it seems for me the 7.95 service is better. Have all your confirmations sent to your email rather than by fax and that alone will save a great number of faxes recieved monthly. I have also heard WinPro is good. What ever you do, do not use efax messanger or a service that makes the receiver of the fax download the reader to read the fax. Have them come PDF or nothing as most locations will not download software into their computer if you are on the road and you need to get a fax.

Maxemail is $14.85/year including 500 faxes a month

...at least that is what I pay. All my faxes go to my yahoo account which then sends my cell phone an instant message telling me I have received a fax. I used to pay 12.95/mo for efax, but that is WAY more expensive than maxemail.

I belive, for $14.85/year, it includes 200 pages of faxes a month. And you can list up to 5 email addresses for simultaneous notification of incoming faxes. It's wonderful, isn't it

thank you all, sincerely! It sure is easier when you have help from those in the business. We are going to get the HP 1320 or 1320tn and then a low end fax(I'll check Brother).
Especially appreciate all the fax websites. Y'all are too kind!
