NAVIGATION SYS

Hi, does anybody here uses car navigation system on their vehicles to go to
the signings? It will be very nice to have it. But with 50.00 dollars per signing,
probably wont be able to afford one pretty soon.

I started with the Garmin V which was great. But as I started to drive further & further out, it didn't do me any good because it has a limited memory and you could only put a small amount of detailed maps in.

About 6 months ago I got the Garmin 2620. It is plug & play, No maps to download and it has the entire USA detail maps. I pack it with me when I travel too.

The retail is a little pricey, but I purchased both of mine off Buy.com and received really good pricing compared to the retail.

I've used a navigation program that I purchased with my Dell Axim 50. It's great, I keep my schedule, appointments, vehicle mileage log, notes, emails, and does pretty much what pc can do. Costly at over $400 for mine, cheapers ones are available though. Don't know how much you are willing to spend. You can open an account with them and pay like a min of $15 a month or so. Plus someone posted a dell virtual coupon on here earlier so you can use that as well. Do a search on dell here you should find it. I'm pleased with all my dell products.

I've used the TomTom GO for about a month and it's very good. It was rated best by PC magazine a couple of months ago.\It is avaliable with "maps loaded" but I would not spend the extra $200. unless I was very computer challenged. This version does come with a larger SD card and maps for all of the US but the standard unit comes with a large enough SD card you should be able to load as much map data as needed unless you cover many states...

I don't have a navigation system - I print maps from mapquest.com and pay attention to the number of miles before making a turn. Does the navigation system talk to you while you are driving, i.e. "turn right on next street"?

I have Navigation in "my" honda(its my wifes)and its very convenient, it tell you with voice at which street
to get off the freeway, it estimates the time to your destination according to your speed. And when your done with your signing just press "go home" and you dont have to be looking where is the next freeway ramp to your house. It also takes voice comands, like "find the nearest restaurant" or "find the nearest gas station".

Its very fun to have one, specially if you drive in so many different areas. I will see if I can Afford one or at least have my wife borrow her car.
