Not getting paid

Attention Notaries: Document Closers bad company to work for. I did a closing on 11-30-04 I have not gotten paid. I called the first week in January and I was told the check would be mailed on 1-15-04. I called today and spoke to a Monica who was very rude and she informed me the check would be mailed out on the 30th of this month. I believe I am getting the run around. Any suggestions on what I should do.

Yes, I most certainly do have a suggestion. Wait at least 45 days, preferably 60, before you start placing phone calls demanding payment. Calling 35-40 days after a closing just isn't very smart. What you're doing is telling the company that you are so financially unstable you HAVE to have their check now. Do it like other businesses: Send a reminder after 30 days, and don't begin demanding until 60 days.

But Hugh, we're signing agents. We're SPECIAL. The established norms of the entire American business economy shouldn't apply to us. We should get what we want, when we want it, and at a premium rate, competition be damned!

I believe that if you sign a contract with a company you should get paid when the contract states. If you don't get it in that time frame then they should be called.

Believe what you wish. In cases such as the one cited in this thread, you will believe yourself right out of future business from the customer.

Becca,
FYI you must have neglected to read our instructions when they clearly state we dont pay for loans that are cancelled before travel regardless of printing, if you would have expected to get paid for printing you should have not accepted our closing assignment. ???And your still stewing 5 months later over a fee that YOU made up???

PS. Thanks for all your free publicity good or bad

Very Respectfully,

DCI Invoicing

First and foremost I am not financially unstable, I am employed full-time this is something I do on my spare time. Secondly their contract stated I would recieve within 30 days so I expect to be paid within that time frame. Thirdly I did not demand payment I was just inquiring when I was likely to be paid their is a difference. Thank you for suggestion
