Off Subject-Brenda

Brenda,
you took your laptop to bed, and watched the Amber Fry interview. Here in Ca it showed later. anyway, How in the world was she so hurt, scared, etc. but had the time and focus to write a book? And not only write one, but the book is published very shortly after the trail and sentencing.

I found the interview interesting, but as a Counselor for over 25 years, I saw many emotional instances in the interview that "appeared" staged. Anyway, probably wouldn't have watched it except for your post.

O/T - NON-notary Frey-Peterson thread

Regarding Frey’s interview.
>> How in the world was she so hurt, scared, etc. but had the time and focus to write a book? And not only write one, but the book is published very shortly after the trail and sentencing.<<

I suspect her being outraged and angry as all get out prevailed over hurt and scared. It can be a good tonic for focus. Anger with temperance and the right actions can serve a purpose to overcome a feeling of victimized status. (Temperance being a key word to note.)

There’s more truth than poetry to the phrase “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” I suppose it’s still possible, but it takes a lot to get me that angry any more—life’s too short to go through the effects of anger on my body …so I’d add to change that phrase to read “hell hath no fury like a woman (younger than 40) scorned.”

Do I think Amber Frey was an innocent little babe that got scammed by a big bad wolf? No.
When she began to suspect he was married and went to the police friend about it made me realize that she was already a crafty gal.

Do I blame her for capitalizing on her experience? No.

[She wasn't a notary in this transaction Smiley so I excuse her. ]

She's from a lower to middle class family and it’s her one shot in life at making a large financial gain and perhaps buy her and her children a better life.

She’s self-employed, has an entrepreneurial nature, and she knows that opportunity does not knock on one’s door repeatedly if not answered. As long as she stated/states the facts about Peterson, I’m glad she did her part. Well...really, he did the talking that brought the jury to its conclusions. On December 9, he admitted he had mentioned his wife's death previously, which was quite an eerie foretelling for me and twelve others on the jury.

The truth of who Amber Frey is will be revealed in the future. She sends out mixed signals, so we'll see what she learned from her experience. The media won't let her go.

kmnotary,

As far as the "second chapter" goes, it is my understanding that she is going to be on Oprah today at 4:00 p.m. (est).

I don't profess to have by any stretch of the imagination the kind of background you do, but I saw the program last night and I must say she seemed pretty genuine and credible to me. But I suppose credibility, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder.

Re: O/T - NON-notary Frey-Peterson thread

Ted and Skippy,
Thanks, i will try to catch the "second chapter" on Oprah today. if I miss it, maybe someone can tell what happened.

Ca seems to have our fair share of these dramas-still 2 more to come, Michael Jackson, and the Blake trials (might have missed the Blake one?), so if I miss one, i am sure I will see the next. Smiley

Hi kmnotary_Ca,

Might have missed the Blake trial? Nope, even out her in the hinterlands of the midwest, I don't think so. Hasn't happened yet.

Oh, by the way, if you missed the "second chapter" this afternoon, I can't tell you what happened as I didn't watch it.

To add to this thread -- I think Brenda is correct.
However, Frey had to watch her backside too -- Peterson could
have set her up for a great big fall if she didn't do things right.
Peterson could have told people that Frey did it, even if it wasn't
true.
I'm sure Frey's Attorney did not come cheap. Her Attorney was
in front of the camera alot during the course of the trial.
The money has to come from somewhere to pay for the Attorney.
I don't know how much Frey got for doing the book tho.

Maude, I think Peterson originally romanced Amber because he figured she appeared vulnerable and easily blinded by the romance. Then I am guessing he intended to marry her as soon as he could weasel out of his wife's perfect murder. And, then romance Amber until she accepted his explanations, and he convinced her he *really* loved her. Next, there would be a nice fat insurance policy, and he'd be widowed a second time. Poor Scott...but, all his debts would be gone. His behavior with Amber makes no sense otherwise. It's not like he was a dog and could not get women. I think he needed another wife ASAP to flesh his plans out.

My guess is Lacey was on to him and was probably about to leave him. With a baby coming that would have made him have to pay CSup and possibly some spousal support.

---------Oprah update-----
When the police arrested Scott he had a map to Amber's office, a large hunting knife, duct tape and something else that indicated he was going to silence her before he disappeared for good. Amber did not know this until during the trial, so she said.

Pre-Lacey disappearance, he had told Amber that he had a Land Rover he was getting rid of soon (his wife's) and that was one of the things that he admitted to on tape.

---------- I guess I followed this story closely because my two daughters-in-law were both expecting babies around the same time and were about the same age. It just broke my heart.--------
