Paperwork

On a recent thred, I noticed someone said that once they are paid, they shred the conformation order. Is this the norm? Am I being too ---retentive?

Hi
I keep all my confirmations in separate file folders for each company. I wouldn't shred them. I was always taught (working admin for 15 years) that you should keep paperwork like that for at least 2-3 years... Just in case!

It would be advisable to hold the paperwork for the statute of limitations period in case their are any problems that might arise.

Grayce NJ timorously inquires:

Oh, you're probably not being too much of a stickler, Grayce. Rule of thumb: Just don't retain anything really significant to the loan. Which is to say, I guess, that you should be sort of a...well...how can I say it?....sort of a null retentive.
